TCU seems high. They weren't even a P5 school until a few years back. They don't have a giant fanbase. Their stadium is fine. No major history. Did well enough as a G5, but no other real history.

A blind squirrel finds a nut every blue moon. Oh look, Bama back in the playoffs this season. LSU not even close. ORDER RESTORED.

Clemson is hilariously high.

For five years ago, yes. For now, no.

They have easy competition in the ACC, so its very easy to win. They now have Top 5 facilities in all of College Football. Located in a talent-rich state that is also close to Atlanta. North Carolina to the north produces a fair amount of talent, yet no program in that state is even a Top 20 CFB program, so its easy to pick that talent off. And the fact they've won 2 National Titles and played for two more in just a six year period doesn't hurt.

Ole miss, North Carolina. MSU, Missouri, South Carolina are not more attractive jobs than Arkansas.

Arkansas has a lot of money and great facilities and NWA is an awesome place to live.

Ga Tech not in the top 35???

The school is located in the epicenter of college football.

I get that they've pretty much owned us lately but we recruit better and I feel like our fan support and facilities are much better than Missouri

Fan support, facilities, and a much better town is what keeps it close between Arkansas and Mizzou.

But Missouri is easier to win at.... playing in the East is far easier than the West. The fact that very little top talent comes from in-state is also a problem.

As of the beginning of this season, there were 27 players on NFL rosters from the state of Missouri, and another 15 from Kansas which likely comes from the KC metro which straddles the Missouri border.

Compare that to the state of Arkansas which only has 12 kids on NFL rosters.

That is a HUGE talent gap.

I'd hate to be the poor soul that takes over after Saban. You want to be the coach that takes over after Saban's successor flops.

Wrong. No talent in state. Have to recruit against the SEC and Texas schools.

All are on the same tier and Ole Miss/Ms State/Arkansas are about on the same level all things equal. But don’t forget Kiffin picked ole miss job over Arkansas this year so you just invalidated your own argument.

The ground that A&M has made up on Texas is the number one most alarming thing to the rich Texas boosters. Many would argue that Texas is no longer a top five job these days anymore because of the toxicity of the fanbase, and the big-city problems that plague downtown Austin in general.

For example, have you seen the number of homeless on the streets right off-campus in Austin? It is something ...

amazing how far nebraska has fallen. defelinty a top 10 job in 90s. Also florida is ranked too high. Reason is facilities are lagging behind other top sec schools.

Not trolling - but I would switch USC and Auburn. USC is the only California program with perennial top 10 potential

Potential is the key word here. Yes, when Pete Carroll was winning Championships and you had celebrities on the sideline, USC was a Top 5 job. It has far more potential.

But right now, playing in the PAC 12 is a huge detriment. There seems to be nearly zero commitment from the entire conference to compete for Championships. Auburn has far better facilities and has shown more of a financial commitment to win when it comes to salaries, etc.

I think its easier for USC to recruit west coast kids because of its location. But you send a kid from Texas or Oklahoma on an official visit to both USC and Auburn (about an equal distance), and I think Auburn has a far more impressive environment, especially if that kid attends the Iron Bowl, the UGA or the LSU game. Kids want to play in the SEC.

USC has a lot of old trophies, but when you look up and see tarps covering empty seats in an old, crumbling stadium, its just not the same.

100% agree with you but after seeing this, it makes the placement of Arkansas seem off

Arkansas' issue is the fact they are in a small state with very little in-state talent. And Fayetteville is also cold. How many kids from neighboring Louisiana or South Texas come up to Arkansas for a recruiting visit in November and are turned off by the fact that its 40 degrees?

There are Atlanta area high schools with more fan support.

Why is Alabama #1? I mean sure, Saban has done a great job but that's only because the bag man networking in Tuscaloosa is well run.

Once Saban leaves, what advantages does Bama have? They don't have great in-state recruits and their academics are borderline average.

If you're thinking about Alabama objectively it's not a great job. I'd take USC, Florida, Texas, Ohio St, Georgia and LSU over Bama.

Also for Notre Dame they use to have a huge advantage bc they were always on tv, but now that really isn't a barrier for any program that's successful

IDK bout that. They have a OTA network that puts at least half their games on exclusively.Thats big time exposure.

ND is still a very good job. Great fan base, facilities and loads of money.

Arkansas obviously has issues and negatives. I have been very vocal about their huge limitations when it comes to recruiting, although weather is super low on the reasons.

My point is their location on the list compared to others, especially Ole Miss. Ole Miss ten spots higher is a major stretch imo.
