Ftr, I did come across a resume from a bama grad about 4 years ago.

Sorta chuckled and deleted it.

No offense but a school with 96% instate students seems very boring. You’d never get to meet people from different places.

You know we have cable TV and the internet now ? Kids and adults are exposed to pretty much the same things throughout the country.

You are a liar or a fool. We, a large corporation, hire Bama engineering grads as quickly as an AU grad. Both are fine schools, but even though engineering is not Bama's focus, their grads are just as competent.

Yeah, the Bama grad's resume probably showed he was over qualified to manage a McDonalds. I can't imagine you checking anyone's resume. A liar, stupid with no imagination.

The one thing that all Auburn students have in common is: every one of them would have been accepted at UAT.

Pretty sure I saw an article that OM freshman enrollment has dropped this year for the first time in 6 years.

Maybe not worth it?

According to tOTL, if it fits in a toilet paper tube it's sufficient. Maybe a paper towel tube, imo. Never really thought about it in those terms.

you just sent about 500 guys looking for a paper towel tube.

Miss. St. has gone all in on recruiting, too. My daughter finished high school last year with a 3.75 gpa and an interest in veterinary medicine. She was bombarded with State mail(even sent her a birthday card!), and enticements for scholarships. They even had present students to contact her with offers of help in answering possible questions...very impressive! Two of her good friends have ended up there and are enjoying the experience...who would have thunk it!

UM is counting UMC in JACKSON in their total. That is like UAT counting UAB in their total.
UM’s total at Oxford is probably half that total that is reported.

Correct. State's undergrad enrollment is bigger than Ole Miss. Their on-campus student population is larger.

Fun fact: UMC in Jackson has more students with undergrad degrees from MSU than Ole Miss.

Yeah that’s true. They might qualify as instate students but very few are generational Floridians. Aka the Florida cracker! For some reason the idea of the Florida cracker fascinates me.

It's really getting to a point where Vandy, at least football wise, should not be in the SEC. Why not join a league where you can potentially win it? They will never compete for the championship in football, so what's the point?

I’m assuming Ole Miss gets the medical center that we put more graduates into than they do?

Curious because I honestly do not know, but do you have a link proving this?

2016 (last year I could find) acceptance ratio

Auburn accepted over 80% of applicants

Alabama accepted 52% of applicants

Everyone with a GED applies to get in Alabama, just so they can get the rejection letter to frame and put on the wall. I think UA even reimbursed the application fee with an itunes credit card.

There aren’t many around that’s for sure. I’m 7th generation which is certainly rare, but even finding families a couple of generations deep can be a challenge.

This is one of the weakest criteria for judging a school. There are a lot of factors that all play a part. with regards to this criteria is is the old quality (Auburn's is better) vs. quantity argument. It is known that Bama will provide scholarships and acceptance with lower grades and ACT scores. They balance that with offering a lot of scholarship money to folkd with high ACT scores.

BOTTOM LINE: Both schools are doing very well in providing a quality education, especially considering we are in the worse state for academics in the nation.

Plus, schools count applicants differently. If you are on Alabama's mailing list they count you as an applicant even though you do not formally apply. Many schools do this (Smart actually). Auburn only count if you pay the application fee.

Being that it's the University of Mississippi Medical Center, then yeah. State fans should be happy that the MSU grads choose to go to UMMC to continue their education. You guys shouldn't get so triggered that your grads don't want to focus the rest of their lives on animal husbandry.
