All I know about Brian Kelly is this: he took over LSU which had less than 40 scholarship players and whose teams had gone 11-12 over the past 2 seasons. In his first year BK's team won the SECW and is playing in the Citrus Bowl. No football person in the US would take Mark Stoops as HC over BK. Not Kiffin or Jimbo or anyone on that list other than NS and maybe KS.

But you go ahead and come up with your absurd rating system for head coaches.

What is going 0-6 in NY6 bowls a sign of?

What a useless analysis. All that typing and research shows absolutely nothing. Outside of Saban - who is the most tenured coach of any program and the goat. I can admit it. He's the best college coach of my lifetime and I'm old.

SEC rant before the season: lmao he’ll be lucky to win 6 games

SEC rant after the FSU loss: lmao he’ll be lucky to win 3 games

SEC rant after losing the SEC championship game: lmao he lost the SEC championship game

You just unironically bragged on the internet that your 4-loss team is playing a 5-loss team in the citrus bowl

Here’s another fun fact. The two best team Brian Kelly has beaten in the postseason are:

4-loss LSU
AND
5-loss LSU

And yet another year passes with the 2017 Citrus Bowl being his greatest career achievement

Was Notre Dame the favorite in any of those games? Were they double digit underdogs? If Notre Dame was the program you think they are, why would Kelly leave? He was making plenty of money and wasn't going to get asked to leave anytime soon. What has LSU's record in BCS/NY6 Bowls been since the start of the BCS era? Are those coaches better than Kelly or did they maybe have better talent than Kelly ever had at Notre Dame?

Here are the 5 BCS/NY6 bowl games he's coached (he didn't coach the 2009 Sugar Bowl or the 2021 Fiesta Bowl):
2008: #19 Va Tech while he was an G5 Cincinnati
- Cincinnati was a 2 point favorite
2012: #1 undefeated national champion Alabama
- Alabama was an 11 point favorite
2016: #4 12-1 Ohio State
- Ohio State was a 6 point favorite
2018: #1 undefeated national champion Clemson
- Clemson was an 11 point favorite
2020: #1 undefeated national champion Alabama
- Alabama was a 20 point favorite

So he lost to the undefeated national champion in 3/5, 1 loss Ohio State in another, and lost as a G5 coach in 2008. He lost as the favorite one time, at Cincinnati.

I know you like to ignore context, but I've provided it nonetheless

Notre Dame is and has been a shite program for almost 30 years now. Nick Saban would not have won at Notre Dame.

the worst team he's lost to in a Bowl game was to 9-4 #23 Florida State.

Those goalposts have been firmly planted for 14 years, Gun Sod.

I had him down for 7-5 this year so congrats to him for surpassing my season prediction (mostly due to the worst West in like 20 years)

You can beat your chests about going 9-4 all you want but at the end of the day nobody’s gonna take the dude seriously until he stops losing every big postseason game he’s ever been in.

Nobody ever accused Brian Kelly of not being able to pull off a 4-loss season. He did that plenty at ND. Until he wins an SEC Championship or a CFP game, he will always be the guy who can’t finish.

It's not a fair question. You're essentially comparing Michigan state job to the Notre Dame job. A more fair question would be, how well do you think Nick Saban would have done at Notre Dame? Brian Kelly at Michigan state?

so your point is that he only lost those games because his teams were never that good anyways?

The entire point of NY6 bowls is that you play good teams. Not being favored in any of them just means everyone knew his teams didn’t belong there in the first place.

Essentially everyone knew his teams sucked and he proved everyone right every year.

They aren't currently.

They haven't won a major bowl game in 30 years.
