Mullen has worn out his welcome but it's retarded for him to be on that list.

Though he wasn't all that awful, Woody Widenhofer should be in the running

Chizik without Gus and Cam would've gotten him fired probably in 2011. He ran the Iowa State program into the ground and did the same at Auburn, only with several top 10 recruiting classes. Other than Doug Barfield, probably the worst to ever coach on the plains.

Agreed. There aren't many coaches who could have gone into Starkville after Croom and won that many games.

A guy who wins a national championship AND national coach of the year honors should be removed from that list.

No joke when I say this Malzahn is a damn great coach and he along with a great situation ie a dynamic JUCO QB that fit what Gus wanted to do on O, a senior laden OL, some good talent in key spots won that title for Auburn. Chizik was a defensive guy and you guys never fielded a competent complete D under Chizik.

Heck you guys had a really good offense in 2009 with Chris Todd running the show.

Franchione

Fran left like a bitch and sucked at ATM but a good deal of his offense was ahead of its time. About two years before anyone knew Urban Meyer's name Fran was running the same offense (Spread option/Zone Read) at Alabama.

How times have changed. The Hallman buyout was just over $100k.

No way Dinardo. LSU had 6 losing seasons in a row before Dinardo showed up. He finished with a 32-24-1 record including 3-0 in bowl games.

I loved Fran, still do. Tyler Watts running his arse off vs. Cocks was awesome. Carl Torbush's defense was as bad as I've ever seen, though

1. Dooley
2. Dooley
3. Shula
4. Brad Scott
5. Orgeron

And I just want to throw this in here. Greg Doyel referring to Dooley's part in Dez Bryant's blow-up
quote:

Bryant's position coach was also in the vicinity, but his position coach is Vince Dooley's son, and when Bryant kept screaming, Vince Dooley's son walked away. Should Bryant respect Vince Dooley's son simply because Vince Dooley's son is his supervisor? Sure, but this is the NFL. A coach has to earn a player's respect, and nothing on Vince Dooley's son's resume -- not even that triple that Louisiana Tech, Tennessee and now the Cowboys seem to think he hit, when in reality he was born on third base -- commands respect. This could be why Bryant raged out of control on Sunday, because he has been paired with a position coach who is extraordinary for nothing beyond his genetic code.

Goff had 2 good years, beat Ohio state in the citrus bowl, and was about 4 points from going undefeated in 92. Not sure he belongs, although his bad years were bad.

He wast great, but there have been far worse.
