Seriously though, put Hallman up there. He was fricking terrible.

I'm aware of that. It doesn't answer the question nor does it mean he is/isn't a good coach. It was my contention that he was a bad coach and fired as a result.
I've never heard a single Auburn fan long for the days since he last ran onto JHS.

tough to say since guys like Zook and Orgeron actually recruited really well, which led to some really good seasons for UF (natty championship) and OM.
I'd say based on pure lack of coaching ability and also nothing to show for as far as recruiting:
1. Mike Dubose
2. Curley Hallman
3. Derek Dooley
4. Ray Goff
5. Mike Shula

Shula and Dooley should top the list.

Didn't Bowden have an undefeated season at Auburn?

But do you really think he was one of the worst 5 coaches in the SEC? That is what this thread is about.. He has a undefeated season….
Worst 5? Not even close
TPOS - Possibly.

Hallman was absolutely terrible.
All I think of when I see the name DiNardio is 1999.

I think my intention, after I saw NGT's list, was to contribute to that then after seeing the full list give an opinion.

Nutt coached for 14 years in the SEC and had nine winning seasons. There's no way he's the worst. He's not even the worst to coach at Ole Miss.

Yea, Nutt isn't a bad coach at all.
Hell taking a non-Manning Ole Miss team to 9 wins and the Cotton Bowl should say enough.

No doubt Chiz was in over his head, but damn. For that one perfect season he got you a SEC & BCS NC. He don't belong on that list.

There is no way Shula is worse than Dooley. Really no good argument for it.
