Here are some numbers since 2000-present. I could be off by a number or two, so let me know if you see an error. I counted bowl games from the 1999 season that were played after New Years in 2000. And I subtracted the 21 wins (1 bowl game) that Alabama had vacated by the NCAA.

Depends on how heavily you weight NCs. If they are the end all be all, then UGA would be 4th behind Bama/UF/LSU. If you look at the whole decade in it's entirety taking everything into consideration, UGA would be 3rd behind LSU/UF.
Bama's last 2 years have helped them out, but they've also had some very average and even one AWFUL year (2000). Georgia has been the model of consistency, averaging 10 wins a year since Richt has been here.

It's got to be Florida. Add in the Heisman Trophy and the 2 OUTRIGHT NCs and it puts them over the top.

Honestly, 2000-2009 was our best decade in school history. Only 2 losing seasons and they were Lou's last two 5-7 campaigns.

nice flame
for these purposes I will take away one UF victory for every 5 UF arrests.
Therefore LSU is/was easily the SEC program of the Decade from 2000-2009

As much as I may hate to admit it, I agree.
Florida, LSU, UGA, then Bama. Bama wasn't good in the early 2000s.

so do you like LSU?
What does that suppose to mean? He never said he likes LSU or more so has them rank #1, the stats are the stats. In fact, he did not even rank his top teams.

LSU has passed Tennessee in the all-time rankings

It means he started a thread with categories where LSU is ranked number one in all of them.

Um, not even close. Tennessee has an overall winning percentage that is 50 points higher than LSU. In the AP era, it's 65 points higher. And head to head, they're 20-7 against LSU. There's no conceivable argument for LSU being a better program than Tennessee.

Though I'm an LSU fan, I'd have to say UF has the edge as the #1 team for the decade. If LSU can manage to get the SEC crown, I'd say LSU

No way we are below Ole Miss this decade. No way.
Posted on 11/11/10 at 3:33 pm to TheLoupGarou
I'd say LSU..one more win, much better bowl record than Florida.
