I love the whole revisionist history that Saban was screwed over by the doctors in Miami. Does anyone think Payton got a different medical report on Brees?

It would be nice to have more NCs, but I think it’s more impressive to have three with three different coaches. Speaks to the strength of the program and in state recruiting. Plus, it’s more fun to go without winning one for a few years. Makes it much sweeter when you win it.

You are asking LSU fans. What you think the answer is?

I wouldn't change a thing. The past 18 years have been amazing for LA football. 3 National Championships, and a Super Bowl (should have been at least another appearance because of the no call against the Rams). Maybe another this year. Not to mention all of the winning seasons for both LSU and the Saints. It's been unreal. Both teams have provided memories that will be cherished forever for fans of both LSU and the Saints.

Brees goes to New Orleans. Do not even have to give it a second thought.

would not change anything

one, maybe not for alabama fans but 3 titles is pretty damn good and satisfying for almost any program. LSU has been and is a successful program by almost any metric we just aren't alabama, not a big deal to me

two, I don't think saban would have had the success here he had at alabama. He is simply a better coach at Alabama than he was at LSU and I think most of that has to do with him scratching his NFL itch and realizing college was his calling. At the point he fully dedicated himself to being the best college coach he could be

I thought the question would be about their lack of hygiene.

Payton just would have found another QB to turn into a HOFer. Easy peazy

The only change I would make going back in time is retain Saban, instead of him opting out, and hoping the Saints would eventually figure out how to have a consistent winner.

Is there a particular reason why I have to make the monkey paw move when I can just talk Saban into staying at LSU?

Nope.

Without Payton and Brees, the Saints never win a Superbowl. They probably become a winning franchise until they find their QB, but they don't win a Superbowl.

LSU has still won two NCs with Saban at Bama. If I could change something it would be to fire Miles after the 2011 loss to Bama in the Sugar Bowl.

Would 100% give up Brees and 2009 SB to have Saban never Coach at Alabama.

It has been awesome to be a Louisiana sports fan the last twenty years. I wouldn't change a thing.
