Florida vs LSU- If I had to pick one of these as most likely to survive annually, this would be it. But I think it gets the ax in the end.

I went to LSU from 05-09 for undergrad. I hate Florida athletics more than any other school. I want them to lose every game, every time, in every sport.

I understand this matchup and rivalry is less than 40 years old, but man I hope it stays annually. It’s been a great series.

Intensity wise, it's second only to playing Bama.

I would want LSU as a pick. I would not care if Bama ever played the Barn again.

The SEC has 8 teams who have won modern national titles. Those 8 will all play 2 teams from the top 8 and 1 from outside. The bottom 8 schools will play 2 from their group and 1 from the top 8.

Bama: AU, Tenn
AU: Bama, UGA
Tenn: Bama, OU
UGA: AU, UF
UF: UGA, LSU
Texas: OU, LSU
OU: Texas, Tenn
LSU: UF, Texas

Texas will get the toughest draw as their bottom 8 opponent will be aTm.

We for sure get AU and Tenn. I wish our 3rd non-“Big 8” opponent could be a quality opponent like aTm, OM, Ark, or SC but I can almost assure you it will be the cowbells due to the close proximity. It is what it is unfortunately.

Auburn has said if we are going to be the only team who has to play both Alabama and Georgia annually, they were pushing for a weaker third opponent.

UGA played AU on the plains 2 years in a row when AU lobbied to not play both Bama and UGA on the road every other year.

Then the UGA game was moved from late Nov to whenever so poor AU didn’t have to play both Bama and UGA in a 3 week span.

Try just getting better instead of claiming false accomplishments and dodging competition.

I made this table years ago when Texas and OU joined the conference.

I’m ok with this. I’d like to grave either Ole Miss or aTm as our 3rd but if I get to keep UF, I’m happy.

Also, personal preference, swap Tennessee from Oklahoma to Texas and have LSU play UF and OU and Texas play OU and Tennessee. The LSU OU game has the potential to be a great rivalry.

lol Tennessee is a better program in every way than Auburn

This is laughable. Truth be told, Tennessee and Auburn are incredibly close in terms of all-time success. And as long back as anyone alive can remember, Auburn has been slightly better in basically every statistical category:

Last 50 seasons:

Series Record:
Auburn leads 15-11-2

Wins:
389- Auburn
380- Tennessee

Winning Percentage:
64.4%- Auburn
63.8%- Tennessee

SEC Record:
57.1%- Auburn (210-157-5)
57.0%- Tennessee (210-158-4)

National Championships:
1- Auburn
1- Tennessee

SEC Championships:
7- Auburn
5- Tennessee

Weeks Ranked in AP Poll
450- Auburn
398- Tennessee

Top 25 Finishes:
26- Auburn
23- Tennessee

Top 10 Finishes:
12- Auburn
11- Tennessee

Top 5 Finishes:
5- Auburn
5- Tennessee

Heisman Trophy Winners
2- Auburn
0- Tennessee

Tennessee doesn’t lead Auburn in a single category spanning the last 5 decades. And you could stretch that to 7 decades and still see Auburn ahead in most if not all of those categories.

Since we expanded with A&M and Mizzou, Arkansas has been the worst program in the conference, not Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

Kentucky and Tennessee have been playing since 1893.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt since 1894.

Tennessee and Vanderbilt since 1892.

Get the frick over it.

But see thats an issue with expansion....You cant keep playing every game you want to. Rivalry sacrifices will happen. Some charter members are going to be pretty pissed off, but that is the cost of expansion

We also have had more success than Auburn against Bama.

This is absolutely not true.

Auburn has won 42.1% of its games against Bama all-time, and Tennessee is at 40.2%.

UGA has played Vandy right at 10% more often than South Carolina. UGA has a winning % of .724 against USC and .735 against Vandy. There is no debate that UGA and Vandy and UGA and UK are more traditional conference rivals, as I originally stated, because there is almost 3 times the history of those 3 being in the same conference as there is with South Carolina and UGA. Georgia Tech and Clemson are both bigger rivals for UGA than USC but neither are now conference rivals. UGA has played Vandy and Kentucky more often and more regularly than USC and the games against Kentucky and Vandy have almost always been conference games. USC is a better program year in and year out on average than either but Vandy and UGA and Kentucky UGA are traditional SEC rivalries while USC and UGA are rivals like UGA and GT and UGA and Clemson...of those 3 Clemson is a bigger rival than USC and GT is in the conversation with Auburn and Florida....I would rather play USC over Vandy or Kentucky because I prefer quality opponents but is simply not accurate to claim USC and UGA are bigger conference rivals than UGA and Vandy or Kentucky.

Georgia was the only SEC team that had a rivalry with SC before they joined the conference. Have Georgia fans ever considered Kentucky or Vandy rivals in football?
1893 Vanderbilt - 83 games
1894 South Carolina - 76 games
1939 Kentucky - 78 games

I would also wager Georgia & USC have played more meaningful and more ranked games since 1992 than the other two teams vs Georgia -

Columbia & Athens are the next closest SEC campuses after the 78 miles between Tuscaloosa & Starkville -

at some point B'ham will have to concede at least 1 opponent in the Eastern time zone to USC - even if we still get stuck with Aggies & Missouri -

LSU: OM, A&M, ARK

The problem with that is that none of those series are particularly close, with LSU having a nearly 2-1 advantage over them.

LSU vs:
OM = 63-40-4, 60.7%
A&M = 36-22-3, 61.5%
ARK = 43-23-2, 64.7%

Total = 142-85-9, 62.1%

I'd rather have at least Florida (34-33-3, 50.7%) in there for a little more balance.
