I'm 66-years-old, and I remember when the Tech game was a big deal. I was a sophomore when we beat them on a last second two point conversion. I watched John Dewberry give us a couple of whippings in the mid 80s. Now, the Tech game is like watching us play Tennessee Tech or Austin Peay. There's always a chance you could lose, but it's not likely.

Yeah what would I know about it. How many of each of those games have you been to again?

Tennessee Tech? You mean the Tennessee Vols, right?

What school is the most joyous to beat, and most painful to lose to- in any and all competition?
What fanbase do you hate the most?
Who do you pull against 100% of the time, no matter who they are playing?

For me all answers =UGA

HEre's the thing about this topic though. It doesn't matter what your book says. Nor mine, or anyone's. What matters is the University of Georgia; the thoghts of random men on the internet don't change what is actual real life reality. I can sit here all day screaming that the sky is green and steadfastly believing it with every fiber of my being but it doesn't change what the sky actually IS, and it aint green. We can talk all day about how much tech sucks nad it's not a close rivalry anymore and yadda yadda, but none of that matters and it doens't hcange the fact that the University of Georgia's biggest rival is georgia tech.

You also hit on another great point I like to address when this topic comes up, which is permanance. Do you think Auburn or Alabama will ever in history NOT be each other's primary rival? Of course not. Or OSU/UM? Or SC/Clemson? No...it doens't matter the ebbs and flows, it's jsut the natural way of life that those teams are each other's rivals. Period.

So it's impossible to say "UGA's biggest rival used to be [insert team] but it's not now"...that can't be! Either a team is your biggest rival or they aren't. Your biggest rival doesn't flap in the breeze like a falling leaf on a windy day. It's forever. Unchanging.

Now granted UGA has had many cycles of what I refer to as a "primary nemesis". In the early 80s you'd be hard pressed to find a more nasty and competitive rivalry in the south than UGA/Clemson. In the 90s UT and UF rose to the top of the hate list, mainly becuase they kept beating our brains in. AU has had various cycles of being a massive throrn in our side and ruining our season down the home stretch. Then of course in the present era bama has head and shoulders been our biggest stumbling block. All of these teams and eras represent big time rivals to UGA's success during the time period, but that doesn't make them our "biggest rival". For that question there can only be one, and it's the same one we've had since 1892.

I mean you’re preaching to the choir. My wife is a longhorn, all of my in-laws are longhorns and I live 10 minutes north of the cotton bowl. I’m in the heart!

Looks like UGA's biggest rival is indeed UF.

It sounds like you have a miserable college football existence.
Probably all sports

The harassment and the pro Texas bias in DFW in the media and around town are the two things that kind of suck for OU fans playing down there.

But we wouldn't have it any other way.

It does to me. That’s what “my book” means.

I don’t think I implied I was representing or arguing for UGA, or anyone else.
