Real simple, you would have to say the programs that have won Naty’s in the time frame you are talking;
Bama
LSU
Florida
Auburn
Didn’t list Tenn because that was before the year 2000 and they have sucked so bad since then, that they have actually be detrimental to the SEC since 2000.

Probably those teams who have won Nattys since 2000. Pretty simple.
Bama
Florida
LSU
Auburn
Maybe Tennessee since they won one two years prior, but they've been so bad for much of this period I don't really give them credit.
Poster above gets it.

If LSU remained an average program in 2001-after, the SEC would be a much different conference especially if we assume Tennessee still falls apart in 2008.

Alabama
Florida
LSU
Auburn
and UGA winning a playoff game give us three teams with at least one playoff win. I know, I know, no natties but they have been a consistent 10+ win team and have some impressive OOC wins, including Notre Dame.

No, it certainly did not. It started no trend.

This probably has a lot of truth in it. All these teams have proved to the nation that they can’t run with the big boys of the SEC.

I think you've got to add Ohio State to that. Losing in the BCS Championship game two years in a row to two different SEC teams in an uncompetitive fashion really got the ball rolling on SEC dominance.

Saban and Alabama have actually caused the SEC to diminish in quality teams top to bottom
No.
It was the SEC feeling like they had to compete with Alabama that caused the SEC to diminish. There were lots of good coaches that got dumped to the curb because everyone thinks they should be able to mimic what Alabama has done.
Fanbases demanding that level of success caused the SEC to diminish, not Alabama.

Auburn started this shite by getting left out in 04

And the only thing that kept FSU out of the title game in 1997 was the Florida Gators

Auburn is a lot more important than most of you are suggesting.
Clemson being dominant does nothing for ACC credibility.
Ohio State being dominant does nothing for Big Ten credibility.
Same for Texas and Oklahoma.
What each of those conferences lack is another team coming up from behind and winning the big one.
Auburn has won the title in 2010 and played for it again in 2013 with two different coaches.
That kind of success lets the country know that football is on another level in the SEC.

Something not to be overlooked is the SEC's bowl record for the last 15-20 years. It has been dominant.
The year that Florida killed Ohio State in the bowl game was a huge event for the conference. Everyone just "knew" that Ohio State was the best team in the country and it was not even close. They were a 10-12 point favorite as I recall. That was the first time I heard fans chanting S-E-C, S-E-C.

It's less so programs and more so coaches.
Spurrier and Saban.

Guess recent for me is the last 20 yrs.... I see your point on the whole bringing the state of Texas into the league. I do stand behind my opinion that A&M brings basically 0 to the league as far as a contender in the big 3 sports

1. Bama (hired Saban)
2. UGA filled void of UF and UT
3. LSU
4. Tennessee (not in a good way)...UT messed up a good thing and Clemson took up the reins in similar recruiting grounds...making the ACC a one trick pony.
5. Ohio State...similar to Clemson, dominated it's conference to the point that both OSU and Clemson were pretty much the only other choices (maybe OK), outside of the SEC if you wanted to play in a championship...meanwhile in the SEC, you've got the current big 3 (Bama, LSU, UGA) but also have others with recent years success...UF, Aub. So, the SEC grows stronger b/c of no other challengers and recruits want to play in the best conference.
