if you can recruit he will be here 10 years
and so far, he has continued to recruit
the on field coaching will be better especially on offense compared to last 10 with Miles

4 years. He probably won't even be bad, but he's gotta beat bama and Auburn and win championships and the odds just aren't in his favor

I agree if he makes good hires on the next coordinators, but there is no way that both Aranda and Canada are there 2-3 years from now.

Probably be actually decent because LSU gets so much talent. But they won't break through Alabama and will be a 9-3 or 10-2 type team.
He gets run off and LSU tanks unless they get a serious coach

5 years at least. He just has to avoid results like his Ole Miss tenure. 8-9 wins seasons will be cool with Alleva. And as long as Alleva is here O is safe. And no one is going to come take Alleva off our hands.

If successful enough, Aranda and Canada might get to be a little choosy and wait for the slam dunk job to open.
Plus LSU pays really well for coordinators so they can afford to wait on a better job to open rather than taking a job you can't succeed in, like Ark or Texas A&M

3.50
A couple of over hyped coordinators (aka every coordinator that had come through LSU) will only make his seat hotter when the Ls start to pile up

He will not get a contract extension.

- Followup hires aren't as good, LSU goes to 8-4/9-3 type seasons and fans grow restless
Two of his assistant coach hires so far have included the only Broyles award candidate on offense and the # 1 recruiter for the 2016 signing class.
Austin Thomas started coaching at Tennessee while Orgeron was there. He then went to USC when Orgeron went to USC. He came from USC to LSU. Seems like Orgeron and Thomas are close. Some LSU fans think AT is one of if not the most valuable personnel on LSU's staff
You think that even with what LSU pays coordinators Coach O will somehow become much worse at hiring assistants in the future?

Depends on how long he keeps great OC and DC's.
I don't think he is HC material for a top 10 team.
Hope he proves me wrong.

Considering it happens to most coaches, I don't think that is much of a stretch at all.

He stays 5 years and it will be L11U.
That's a hell of a thought.

Never seen any fan base perpetually put so much expectations into assistant coaching hires. It has gone on for a decade... it is crazy.
Orangutan lasts 3 years.
2017 will be a bad year, 7-5. 4-4 but that is expected with the personnel losses last year and the huge holes in recruiting at LB, DL, OL, the last few years.
2018 will be slightly better, 8-4, 5-3, win one more game with a couple of close losses, with the improved recruiting last year and this year beginning to show noticeable improvement.
The key will be 2019, with four years of "O" recruiting and sky high fan expectations, and a generally veteran team. A step back or no improvement in W/L, say 8-4, 4-4, combined with contract limits will do him in.
On the other hand, if he has a successful season in 2019, say 10-2, 6-2, he might get a new contract and half the tiger fan base will lose it. Either way it will be entertaining.
