What if a coach sold his soul to the devil to beat Alabama while at a school in a state that borders Alabama?

I don’t know but it sure feels like Tennessee is damned sometimes

He helped Tebow beat all the demons on the teams he played against. He chose sides and Tim was his man.
Absolutely.

You could ask a Presbyterian man about this. Some are called to damnation.

On January 8, Denver hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers during the Wild Card Round of the NFL playoffs. Tebow completed 10-of-21 passes for a career-high 316 yards and two touchdowns, including an 80-yard touchdown to Demaryius Thomas on the first play of overtime, as the Broncos won 29–23.[170] Media sources noted Tebow's passing yards (316) and yards per completion (31.6) evoked the Bible's John 3:16. The Nielsen ratings for the game also peaked at 31.6.
Yeah God was speaking to him about something.

What if my name is “Christian” but I’m Buddist?
Can I still play?

As a Catholic I will say
we are all guilty we are all bad, that included Hugh Freeze!
not for the hookers or any of the weird stuff, but just in general, Hugh like all of us is gross and bad and should feel bad so go to church (where father better get us out in a crisp 55-60 minutes so help me) go to confession then go get communion and Hugh Auburn and all of us will be all right
football? oh we're all on our own god doesn't care
he also doesn't care about drinking or gambling so that's fun
but in summation me, you, Hugh, Auburn, all teams, everybody bad and should feel guilty

Does God call a football coach or team to suck?
I'm not super religious, but I heard a phrase once that resonated with me as it pertains to sports. "God is involved with everything."
Now, a coach proclaiming God called them here or there, that's up to them and God. But just because God called you somewhere doesn't mean He is interested in you winning at that destination. He COULD be involved with you losing for whatever many reasons an Almighty may have.
Philosophically, it does seem that God would be interested in an activity that DEEPLY affects the psyche of His people, and sports do that in a unique way. You always hear pastors say "If only we could have a congregation that felt the way they do about their team, about God and church." So, it does make sense God would find ways to generally affect us through it all.
In conclusion, God is an Alabama fan.

Matthew 7:15-20
A Tree and Its Fruit
15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.
Bear witness to the fruit of Hugh Freeze, past and present.
God gives us the desire and will do His work, but we have freedom of choice to disobey his will.

I doubt that God cares about who wins the games. But He certainly cares for the people involved on both sides of the football field

As a reformed Baptist, who studies the word, there is NOTHING outside the will of God.
Daniel 4:35 "All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: 'What have you done?'
Psalm 115:3 “Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him"
Proverb 16:33 “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord"
I could literally go on and on, and point to entire passages of the New Testament.
God can use a football game to bring conviction to a man and open his eyes to see he idolizes a sport played by children, and show him his need for a savior. And He can use that same game to harden a man’s heart allowing that man to do what he wanted to do in the first place and curse God because the game didn’t go his way.
I could think of several scenarios where God can use even a football game to accomplish His will which is ultimately for Jesus Christ to be glorified. I love it when a big sports figure gets on the grand stage and uses it to point others to Christ and not himself. To God be the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
I pray everyone here has repented and trust in Christ for the forgiveness of sin and been born again into the kingdom of God. :)

Hugh trying to channel his inner Esther “for such a time as this” not realizing that he actually is supposed to be the one with agency in the situation, lmao.

This is one of those fun topics where everyone takes their favorite cherry picked verse and forgets things like context, audience relevance and timing.
