I mean going forward that's fine but what does that have to do with a week 1 power ranking?

11. Missouri

Missouri dominated an FCS team the way an SEC team should. No way will they have the injury trouble they had last year, but this is a team that needs to improve A LOT and quickly before they can climb the SEC ladder.

Reasonable. I approve.

Your rankings are ok.. Except a for a few. USC looked avg at best. UNC is horrible. Ole Miss is definatley better this year. Texas AM is way overrated, the defense is a disaster.
UGA, lost to the team that without a doubt now has the inside track to Pasadena , with wins over FSU and USC they are there. Which will most likely happen, unless the Clemson against Maryland in a Noon game.

In order

Bama
UGA
USC
UF
LSU
Ole Miss
Vandy
Tex AM
Auburn
Tennessee
Mizzou
Arkansas
Miss St
Kentucky

6. Georgia

After losing a heartbreaker to one of the best ACC teams, Georgia took a major step backward. They still have an elite offense and the best RB-QB duo in the conference. But what we know for sure is if they're not better than Clemson, they're certainly not the best team in the SEC.

I still think USC is the team to beat in the east, but shite can always change as the season goes on.

If we're going by just week 1 there's no way you can say alabama put together as complete a game as LSU did.

I didnt even watch Bama's game but I'll go out on a limb and guess they didn't have 3 of their first 4 red zone possessions end in field goals.

We are improved but let's not get crazy now. The red zone ineptitude is still painful to watch.

That's because they only made it to the red zone once. The rest of the game was ST, defense, and watching the o line take a dump on the field.

Come on man. After watching week 1 , there is zero reason to have Bama above LSU. LSU beat a top 20 team in their city, Bama beat va tech. Tcu has a better defense and offense than va tech.
Not saying LSU would beat Bama or vice versa, but LSU had the more impressive performance.

As much as it pains me to admit it, I would probably have LSU above Bama at this point, based solely on week 1.

WOW I'm stunned. A Bama fan with common sense? I applaud you.

Taking all with a grain of salt because of the wide difference of opponents... and it's only 1 game:

- UF too low. Too good of a D to be that low.

- only 1 issue "found" with Bama, and they are fixable (not talent related)

- Watched the USC game, I would agree. Appears to be a complete team.

- TCU just might be an avg Bevo 12 team. Lets see if O is consistent. Can't argue any placement between 3 & 5 after Sat.

- For the same reason UF should be higher, TAMU should be lower (lack of D). But, had starters out; not sure what their D really looks like yet.

Who said it was based solely on week one? Thats not the only factor.

A kink is blown cb coverage or picking up the blitz. Rushing for 2ypc and throwing for 110 yards is not a small kink.
