This is exactly where I’m at…

Not gonna get worked up yet. Don’t know if it’s too early or not but maybe he will figure it out.

Judge the fact that he had every opportunity to go and get a serviceable Guard and Tackle in the portal, but chose to bring in Skinner and several others. Judge the fact that Brown was supposed to be ahead of almost every QB in terms of understanding a system, but sometimes he seems trigger shy.

There’s a reason all those guys played G6 ball for 4 years. They weren’t good enough to play SEC ball and it showed in spades on Saturday. The receivers played well and Singleton could play for a lot of teams but Brown and the linemen are not ready for SEC play every Saturday. I don’t see that changing much. They are who they are at this point, 5 years in.

OL play is an issue for most teams, but especially those with first year head coaches. Feel like you can count on one hand the number of teams with ‘good’ lines.

Idk if it’s the portal or the schemes, but OL play across CFB has never been worse.

A lot of OL play is continuity and experience. Auburn hasn't had that nor recruited for it since the Chizik era

You aren't likely to build a great OL from the portal. You'd have to pay a metric f ton of $ for the talent to overcome the lack of cohesion

I’m not happy with BB at QB. He has his moments but does a lot of things wrong. He’s processing slow and his windup delivery makes Reggie Slack’s throwing motion look like Peytotn Manning. I’m also treating this season as the base and it can only go up from here. This upcoming portal cycle he has his work cut out for him.
I bought into the hype. Thought BB was going to be this dynamic run threat QB, Next time I see it, will be the first time. At this point, put Tia in.

We're reacting to Alex like he's in year 3-4 and has failure after failure and excuses because of the last 5 years
Nope, been skeptical about this QB and resisting the urge to say it since first listening to him speak. His first impression.

Byron didn't have to be eloquent or fresh ready with his words. A splatter of I'm here in mangled Carnell 'Caddillac' Williams uttered from the heart and unrehearsed would have done. And his post game reinforced this "I'm not ready' in about the 30sec's it took to stop. Cam was correct in not anointing BB with nothing to base it upon. (ByronBrownsPostPresser)

So yeah....

Because it's a bit scary to think out of the whole NCAA this was his top shelf QB... and now we're stuck developing a 5th year senior because of it.

2nd hand 'quote'

- I'll never get angry with penalties of aggression

interim coach Durkin , talking about last year's game vs Vandy and failure to end drives by committing penalties on 3rd down .

It seems like the lesson isn't being learned by the coach himself, so no reason to think the players will change anything. Better to be a bad mo-fo and impose your will on the other player, EVEN if it keeps your D on the field longer, allows their offense to score on a drive they should have punted on and eventually lose the game to them because of it.

But by god, they'll know who was the tougher man on the field that day!!
