Close game if Richardson is healthy and plays. Bama by more than 2 tds if he doesn’t.

Why would it be a close game?

Close game, could go either way.

If Bama's Qb has a freshman moment it could get ugly for Bama

Their best QB was run off the field by Oklahoma’s secondary.. Their back up QB could add the threat of running which helped Florida but mainly by not throwing as much. The Florida running back in that game was quick and effective. The Florida Oline and Dline were not much at all.... Oklahoma 3rd and 4th string RBs ran all over Florida...Pitts only played one position and a team like Florida has more than one capable TE so lame excuse just drop it.....if Florida hangs with Bama for mare than a half , Bama is exposed.....

Bama wins by 15. Florida turnovers and shoe throwing are the story of the game.

As of 2:38 PM CT the weighted average Rant-Predicted-Spread is Alabama -13.815

Vegas consensus spread is -14.5

Not a bad line, slightly more bullish on FL bc of FL fans.

It should be a great game. I think Bama wins this.
Say what you want about Saban but he knows how to coach and isn't afraid to change something if they are losing in the game. He has that killer instinct and most likely the Greatest Coach to coach D1 football! I personally never thought any other Bama coach would ever pass Bryant but Saban has done that. It's impressive!

This game reminds me of Bama/OM in 2014 and I don't know why as superficially there are no similarities.

Oddly enough, Bama's game before that was against Florida.

What NIL "perk" is Meghan Mullen offering the entire team for a win? I can't accurately make a pick without this info..

Bama by 3+ TD's. Florida isn't that good this year. This game is all hype, no substance.

The back end of defense will be exposed. We can't cover anyone. I think our offense will be ok, but the defense is going to be our downfall.

I think the line for this game makes no sense if you really look at each team closely.

1) Florida’s OL will not be able to move Alabama’s DL around enough to run like Florida needs for the kind of offense they have this year.

2) Florida’s skill positions in the throw game are downgraded big time from last year. Copeland is more than just a guy but they are lacking the explosiveness of Toney or mismatch of Pitts.

3) Exacerbating the lack of dudes at the skill positions, the stats against tomato cans suggest that Jones and Richardson will not be accurate enough to consistently beat good defenses as passers.

4) Mullen’s favorite type of defensive coordinator has a history of giving up way too many explosive plays to Alabama’s offense over the years. They seem improved but I’m betting on more of the same.

How I see this game going: it will be competitive but Alabama will end up pulling away for a 42-20 type victory. Florida success on offense in the 2020 SECCG was built on big 1st and 3rd down plays. The 3rd down plays often being long yardage for conversion. I get the feeling their QBs are going to make far fewer clutch throws in 3rd and long while Alabama will hit about their usual clip of explosive plays v. Grantham Ds.

Long view is Florida may be a 3 or 4 loss team this year. USF is a bad team and Florida didn’t really look that impressive against them. Remember USF lost to NCST 45-0 then NCST got dominated the very next week against Clanga.
