Poll: Is the success at Ole Miss due to Kiffin or the program itself?

Some Ole Miss fans are saying their program has taken giant steps forward in this "new era" and their success has more to do with that, than with Kiffin.
I think it's more to do with Lane being a good coach.
It's probably somewhat of a combination but do you think their success is due more to a "new era" where Ole Miss is now a contender or is it Lane?
Upvote for "new era"/Ole Miss is a great program
Downvote for Lane

I downvoted because I thought you made an awful post.
And I'm pretty sure that's why the other 3 people (and counting) also downvoted.

Meh I think both can be true.
They've gotten their shite together with NIL and have a good coach at the same time.
But it's mostly Lane.

Is this a joke? With Kiffin they are on the verge of the playoff. Prior to Kiffin I’ve never even seen them play in the SECCG. They were so pathetic that they literally hung a banner claiming to be the 2003 West champs. LSU played in Atlanta that year and won the natty.

It was the teamwork between the two.

Of course its Lane. Hes won almost everywhere

1. Kiffin is a good coach.
2. They’ve played the easiest OOC schedule in the league.
3. They’ve played one of the two easiest SEC schedules in the league.
All of this has added up together to make for some good years by most any team’s standards…. But Ole Miss is not a national championship caliber program and never will be.

It's both. Kiffin is great and has clearly maximized our program. His use of the portal is legendary. But we also have an excellent athletics director and some very committed boosters who are funding NIL excellently. This is a change to the way things were done just 15 or so years ago, when we had the "good ol' boys" network running things.
If I had to choose which one was more responsible, I would say Kiffin. His portal grabbing, program management, and coaching is hard to ignore, and his record speaks for itself. But I think the "bones" of our program are really strong for any coach who takes over for him, if he chooses to leave. That money isn't going to dry up, as long as the new coach wins.

Ole MIss has been as good as any team in the SEC for two years in a row now, and Ole Miss hadn't been as good as any team in the SEC two years in a row since segregation and every other player was named Dick or Buzz.
I have yet to read or encounter an Ole Miss fan who thinks it's the program and not Kiffin, but if these people exist, they should be laughed at and after that ignored.

Seems like Kiffin activated some stuff that Ole Miss might not really known was as feasible as it proved to be. So that's Kiffin, but may spark something that can be sustained.
But I doubt many of the things that will keep Ole Miss from rising to the next tier up in the conference over the long term have changed.

Ole Miss boosters are ahead of the curve on NIL

Both can be true. Our AD is a massive part of our success and quick adoption of the NIL process. Keith Carter does not get the deserved recognition. Lane is obviously the key reason but Carter is the reason that OM fans are optimistic. I get this was a troll thread but if you did desire a real answer, there you go.

To be somewhat fair about the scheduling, Tulane was coming off a Cotton Bowl win when Ole Miss scheduled them. And actually Tulane still is one of the best Group of 5 teams at #57 in FPI. However, the Group of 5 has gotten really bad recently, which makes almost every Group of 5 opponent almost kind of interchangeable if you're an SEC team that's anywhere close to playoff caliber. #57 really shouldn't be that much harder to beat than #100 if you're a top 10 or even top 20 team. (Obviously #57 is a lot harder to beat if you're something like a #60 team.)
Also, they scheduled WSU before the PAC collapse, which in the transfer portal has lead to WSU almost instantly falling off a cliff due to how their decent players (who originally went to WSU with the intent of playing in the PAC) can transfer out.

We scheduled WSU because Wake Forest bailed after we demolished them last season. They were all we could get in less than a year's time. USCw also bailed on us this season.

Different times. Now that we can pay players and actually have a good NIL setup it helps us keep up with bigger schools. That said you still have tot have a guy that people want to play for and that is definitely Kiffin
