Don't forget Arkansas left Texas in the SWC.

I think it is already a done deal. Can't see Texas and Oklahoma risking their pride without assurances that they will be accepted.

I will say, the closeness of this vote is surprising.
I would have thought those in favor would be in the 70% range.

Unfortunately they come as a set of
twins, with the ugly, pimpled faced, pseudo bloated
ego, B-12 conference killers
Texas as half of the duo. I'd take Oklahoma
but not with Tejas----so, NO.

I’m excited about OU. Texas should be manageable by the SEC’s solid foundation and the number of peers it will have here to keep them in check. Also, Aggy’s reaction to all this is making me start to almost like Texas…

This is very important. Alabama, LSU, UGA, UF, Tennessee & Auburn are the ones who run things in the conference from an input and control perspective. This is the traditional Big6. As long as these guys are able to keep Texas in check like you said, this can work!

I think what Aggie fans are trying to say is that Texas will pout if they don’t get their way. They will call a meeting of their leaders and threaten legal action. If that doesn’t work, they will tell everyone that they are going to take their ball and go somewhere else.
That’s bad. Thank goodness we don’t have any members that act like that.

NO to any teams joining.
YES to 4 teams leaving:
Missouri, A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee (I'll take South Carolina over Tennessee any day)

I have come to enjoy Texas A&M as a little brother that we all mess with and enjoy it. Screw Texas.

Only a 2.6% difference after 5000k votes. That is around 1% margin of error based on estimates of total fanbase sizes.
Pretty interesting how evenly split the topic is. That said, it is an LSU site, so a disproportionate amount of aTm hating Tigers have certainly skewed the vote to a degree, but likely not enough to truly impact the true sense/feeling of the board (fans). But, it is still pretty interesting how close it is.
I'm guessing it would be a landslide win for YES if it were asked for "OU only", and a somewhat less spectacular win for NO if asked for TX only.
In any case, the greatest lesson learned (or reinforced) this week is that TX is full of unrequited football love from two large fanbases locked in a sibling rivalry, filled with tantrums, whining of fairness, and self-inflated senses of worth and entitlement. Sounds pretty much like most imagine how bigger, better everything truly is in Texas.
Utx/aTM,
for keeping the off-season its most interesting in a decade.

Having lived with both, OU since the Big 8 and Texas in the Big 12. Yes to OU and frick off to Texas. I am no Aggie lover but the SEC is screwing them.

Texas has always had the reputation for being assholes. Nothing excites me about having them in the SEC. Oklahoma is actually a pretty good cultural fit. Texas wants to be Berkeley east, that is what I have always heard about them. I am quite surprised they want to be associated with the 'bumpkins' of the SEC.
I don't know what is in the SEC by-laws about kicking a program out of the conference for a-hole behavior but that absolutely needs to be added if they let Texas in the SEC.
