It's actually the CBD in MJ that makes it beneficial to football players.

Hilarious that we have prohibited a substance that our bodies have evolved to derive benefit from. We have cannabinoid receptors. Meaning that we have been smoking that shite for thousands of years as a drug. A beneficial drug.

Virtually no one is killed by alcohol unless they seriously abuse it. Not a valid comparison.

No shite? You can die from drinking too much alcohol. You cannot die by smoking too much marijuana. That's the point he was trying to make

Not only acutely but the long term affects of marijuana vs. alcohol are far different. Alcohol destroys your body with a lifetime of abuse.

Correct, and unless you are smoking marijuana and not ingesting THC through other means, THC has no adverse long term effects on the human body except for it can sometimes have adverse effects on brain development for chronic users at a very young age.

Depends on what performance you are seeking.

I use marijuana and I think ultimately it should be legal. But the people that champion it always seem to act like it's harmless when it just isn't. Studies show it causes brain damage and can induce psychosis and schizophrenia. Smoking it is terrible for your lungs and it causes emphysema and lung cancer. It also has negative effects on the users heart.
Besides all the health effects, do you really want everyone on your favorite team going around high all day? You're lying to yourself if you think marijuana is harmless and has no effects.

I see what you're saying. I don't understand the hippie non shower stigma and worthless attitude. Sure relax if it's recreational, but even strain names are embarrassing as a user. Grand doggy purps man, that's the shite. But, these people are passionate about it and were the ones who have got it this far, so I can't bitch too much.

it does not cause brain damage in adults. It is a stimulant so it can cause issues for people that already have heart conditions, but the effects only last a few hours. It has generally short term effects. A lot of things that are neither illegal nor tested for by the NCAA do as well.

If marijuana causes someone's work product or performance to be affected, then it will be easy to see. Plenty of responsible adults with good jobs use THC regularly and it has no ill effects on their work. Some people abuse this and are lazy. However, I think that is more on someone's personality and maturity than the drug itself causing the ill effects.

If Toby Kieth can make a song about it. It should be legalized.

But, if the players are looking for (doubt it) just the pain killing aspect, you can get CBD oil or capsules and not test positive for THC.

I would be fine with the NCAA stop testing for it. If schools want to test for it fine, or if schools want to punish players getting arrested for possessing it, then that's also fine. The only thing the NCAA needs to test for are performance enhancing drugs. They don't need to be acting like probation officers.
