n Guatemala I saw a kid with an Auburn tee shirt and said War Eagle.
His mom quickly put her arm around him.
As far as friendly sports greeting, I got nothing.

Old City of Jerusalem, in June of 2025. Dude called out from a stall and when I went over, brought out his son and showed me his son's Georgia driver's license.
Still don't know if it was real or if he had one from all 50 states just to drive business.

Why do you go to women's rescue shelters? bath houses and that sort of thing?

I get a rawhl tahhwd at every homeless shelter, women’s rescue shelter and halfway house I volunteer for.
It’s really weird.
I mostly just hear Go Tigers when I drive past the STD clinic.
I admit, that's weird.

Got a "Go Dawgs!" in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2001 (before it became a cool tourist destination). I was wearing a UGA hat.

Guess furthest from home would be Dubrovnik, Croatia this summer where I saw someone else in an LSU polo. Got a geaux tigers on the slopes in Whitefish, MT while wearing my LSU hoodie and another time on my honeymoon in the Doha airport. I’m not the only LSU alumni with a passport to travel the world though so it doesn’t surprise me when I see other LSU fans abroad.

Wearing LSU gear I’ve gotten a Geaux Tigers just about everywhere, Rome, Spain, Portugal, France, DC, Boston. I also got a pretty venomous/loud War Eagle from Auburn fans in the Milan Airport.

Himalayas in Nepal.
I had my Hog ball cap on almost every day of the 12-day trek to Mount Everest base camp. Somewhere along the way up, a man and woman were heading down and gave me a ‘Go Hogs’.

What tends to happen to me on travel is yankees confuse me for a Green Bay fan.
I went to the Notre Dame game and stayed in a hotel in the Magnificent Mile footprint, I had a lady ask me, “why are there so many Packer fans in town, and why are they all wearing red?”

I don't wear the Power G above or outside the Mason Dixon for this very reason. And as a Bears fan it's doubly annoying.
Outside the friendly Southern confines, t's always the Bulldog, UGA, or Georgia.
