Opposite effect
Saw a guy wearing a Texas sweatshirt at Hilton in Singapore. Gave him a horns up sign and he looked at me like I was a ghost

You'd be surprised to see that people in some other countries really do love college football as well.

I was in Rome back in 1999 and was staying at a hostel called Casa Olmata and ran into a fellow Longhorn there. We wound up kicking it from there through Florence, Venice then he went to Innsbruck while I went to Graz but we met back up in Budapest then hit up Prague and Berlin at that point he had to fly back to Fort Worth.
Later that same trip I ran into some Houstonians (they worked at Little Pappasito's on Richmond) when I was at Balmers in Interlaken Switzerland then we traveled from there to Paris, Bruges, & Amsterdam.
I do miss traveling around Europe back then when stuff was affordable pre-Euro. shite you could do the Heineken Brewery tour for 2 guilders ($1) and they would let you slam as many beers in the tap room as you could in 30 minutes after.

Roll tides in Boston, Chicago,, Seattle, LA, Atlanta. Others but can’t remember atm. Best one, though…
I was at a sugaring off dinner party at a maple syrup farm in Quebec, Canada.. A young couple was walking around talking to visitors and playing an accordion and tambourine and serenading. They asked where we were from. We said “Alabama” and the young man said “Roll Tide” and broke into Sweet Home Alabama on his accordion. True story.

For most unexpected, I'd say Copenhagen, Denmark or Malmö, Sweden.

In Guatemala I saw a kid with an Auburn tee shirt and said War Eagle.
His mom quickly put her arm around him.
