there what is? You seem to think you're making some big point when you aren't.

There is currently a shitty, lawless system (or lack of a system I should say) at present. So we will pay what it takes to field a good team. How exactly is that a "gotcha", in your mind?

I'm following your logic.

No football players, no team. No team, no revenue.

=

No students, no college. No college, no college town.

The students should receive stipends from the college and local government and businesses that all create revenue off the students' back. The students deserve it.

Sorry I don't have his bank statements. My information comes directly from friends who worked in the recruiting departments of other SEC schools. Not 4th hand, pretty direct.

I also grew up with multiple 5 star recruits who told me, directly, they were getting payed 6 figures. High school kids have no filter. None of them panned out so it turned out to be wasted, but still happened none the less.

I'm not here to say LSU is innocent in any of this either. LSU was absolutely dropping bags. Have been for the last decade. As a matter of fact, I know someone who literally dropped a duffle bag of cash off to an LSU recruit's uncle's house 10 years ago.

ESPN and advertisers arent paying billions upon billions for you and me. The $$$ that’s flowing right now is paid for the elite of the elite athletes. This is much more a meritocracy than socialism.

Retarded argument made by people who don’t understand what free market means.

CFB was a free market before NIL

Not really, it was driven by a black market where risk of NCAA penalty was priced into the bags received by the players. Only the schools willing to take on the risk had access to the best players. Not a free market.

Now that it's legal via NIL, the black market will go away and the payments happen above board. All schools have unrestricted access as long as they're willing to pay market rate.

Sure, that will drive the prices for a 5-star QB up, but that's that's capitalism, baby. We can't all own mansions on the beach.

I’ve stated several times before but it evidently doesn’t sink in with some. Walmart has given Arkansas over $400 million dollars over the years primarily towards academics. The majority of Walmart money given to athletics was when Bud Walton gave millions to finish the basketball arena back in 93. Otherwise almost nothing towards athletic endeavors.

When SEC and B1G teams are expected to make over $100 million a year with new TV deals eventually the wallets had to open up. If not the court system would have forced it.

Everybody: Yes.

Saban is just pissed that now other schools can offer recruits big money without fear of the NCAA like he's been able to do for years. When you are the biggest most well insulated and well protected bootlegger in the land the last thing you want is for alcohol to be legalized

The players themselves don't grasp this. SEC games would still put 90,000 asses in the seats even if every roster looked like a D3 roster.

Then why doesn't UGA save some dough and introduce a strict "no NIL bag" policy?

Name the friends and what they did in the "recruiting dept" (whatever that means) and name the schools.
BTW how in the world do you have so many "friends" who happen to work in "recruiting depts" at other SEC schools.

Name them. They also talk a lot of trash
as well.

Do I think schools are squeaky clean? Of course not but Nakobe bought off for
300k? Complete bullshite. His Dad's a doctor and he's a 3.5 engineering student...not your average recruit who grew up in the hood with his hand out.

do you understand how retarded your question is? Just because our fans would still buy tickets and still come to the games, doesn't mean we want to actively be bad at the sport. It is still nice to put a winning product on the field..

a free market is a voluntary one. That's it.
'

If you join a homeowners association and you can't build a 10ft fence in your yard because of it, it doesn't mean your house wasn't bought through the free market.

Nobody was forced to play college football and by extension agree to the rules of the governing body of that sport.

What he really means is

What he means is college football is starting to suck arse because of the combination of NIL and the transfer portal.

Can't even get excited about players because they're 1 and done. If they aren't starters they leave to a team where they can start. If they are starters they leave to go to a better team.

They need to change the transfer portal rules.
