Briles will leave but Odom seems like a DC for life.

He did a great job building that staff but there will always be Coordinator turnover and there are a lot more bad ones than good ones

So he’s scored 100% in hiring and retaining his coordinators, but I should be concerned because he might fail in the future? You can say “he might screw up his coordinator hires in the future” about any coach.

Always be coordinator turnover? We are in year 3 with the same coordinators and they have both turned down multiple jobs.

If you can keep coordinators for 3 years you are doing something right and if other teams are coming after them like they have been you are doing something right

What is funny is this love fest for Pittman, which is warranted completely. Dude is the man imo. But Arkansas has consistently driven coaches out of town for averaging 7-5/8-4. It will be interesting to see if Pittman can take the Hogs to 10 wins + consistently (like how Arkansas fans are already acting like he has) or if he is a solid coach who keeps them consistently at 8-4. If he does the latter, it will be interesting to see if the hogs keep singing this tune. The guy is the man in my opinion; but you would think this dude won a natty with how the hog fans talk about him.

Yes Pittman has done a good job at Arkansas. But let's pump the brakes a little. Just see how things are going at Arkansas after another year or two before designing that statue.

I love watching Pittmans style ar Arky. Run the ball and physical. He brought back what Arkansas football used to be when I was growing up watching it

Pittman is a hell of a leader. He’s laser focused, he’s serious, he keep things simple and doesn’t care about trying to sell anyone on what he’s doing

Then you have this

Was Houston Nutt not a consistent 7 and 8 win coach? Maybe there were other factors involved in his firing idk I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure he was a solid 7-5 / 8-4 consistently

The question is, where does Pittman end up when he’s ready to take the next step?

I mean, after Petrino literally crashed and burned, and the Chad Morris Era, I can't blame their enthusiasm for him and the job he's done thus far.

I do think that your hypothesis that their enthusiasm might wane in a few years if he plateaus is valid, but we'll see what happens.

He had 10 years and showed he could never develop a passing game. In his last 4 years, he averaged less than 7 wins.

You said Arkansas has consistently driven coaches out of town for averaging 7-8 wins, and your one example is a coach we had for 10 years and mutually parted with 15 years ago.
