The midfield logo was roped off and the OU players crossed the barrier to take pics. No idea how this is on the Bama staffer. She’s doing her job.

Really? Recently?

I know a handful of people who know him, and I have not heard this (though I've not spoken to some of them in years, and it is not something that would just come up in conversation anyway).

Maybe I don't keep up with folks like I should.

No idea but with a home game next Saturday, you think they want opposing players cleating it up? She did her job.

It was just cleated up for four quarters. Do you think a few more minutes is going to do massive damage?

Seems like she was just doing her job, so no fault on her. The issue is why was she tasked with this job? Guessing it is because OU had some history with histrionics at midfield after a road win? I only care about that insofar that it leads to a post game fracas between the players. I couldn’t care less if they do wheelies with their schooner at midfield because that’s probably just the Super 7’s problem.

this narrative?

You're the one typing out narratives. My point is very simple:

Alabama, just like everyone else, isn't so great when they don't have a hall of fame coach.

That bad boy is 2hp, not quite front wheel drive, more like front wheel steer.

I mean... if you don't want your opponent taking pictures on your midfield logo, rather than roping it off, you could, oh, I dunno... win the game...

I don’t think so. Former Students Association does not have him listed as deceased

I have no problem with enforcing the roping.

When are we going to start videoing lifeguards telling punk kids to stop running and then media blames the lifeguard after a whole group cusses her out.

Rules are rules.

Amen!

Another good question is who the hell else ropes off their midfield logo after the game? Gotta be only the gumps.

Probably to stop old Gumps from sneaking out after the game and spreading MeMaw's ashes or Tubby Toothless doing a kneeldown proposal or something...

What was the purpose of roping off the logo?

Let's analyze the situation.

Apparently, someone thought it was a good idea for the Oklahoma game to be Alabama's homecoming contest.

They had every expectation to win the game and in the event of fans surging onto the field at the game's conclusion it was felt a simple rope barrier would prevent them from walking all over the midfield logo, what with Alabama fans being known for their sense of decorum and strict adherence to the rules put in place by their administration.

Obviously the final score took the administration by surprise and they did not have in place a plan to deploy the Alabama National Guard, state troopers or even a handful of event staff to protect the sacred logo, only a lone girl stood between the crimson and cream marauders and the sanctity of the school's cherished logo.

Though vastly outnumbered the lone girl stood her ground even as angry players verbally abused her.

She should be awarded the Alabama equivalent of the Distinguished Service Medal or some such reward and be forever held up as an example for the young people to emulate.

What job? Some made up sensitivity juvenile grade school twine placed around the Logo at midfield like its sacred? Ugh...feel sorry for her actually to try to enforce such ridiculousness. Players want a victory picture...the Logo indicates the opponent for easy recall without explanation.
