LINK

1. Oklahoma - 90.4
2. Auburn - 90.0
3. Tennessee - 89.7
4. USC - 85.9
5. LSU - 83.9

First of all, curious that UGA isn’t there.

Second of all, how the frick is Auburn 2? We couldn’t get a pass rush against PSU to save our lives

If this is cumulative, we had very good DL performances the first two weeks against poor competition.

PFF is supposed to take quality of opponent into account though

This is an objectively stupid ranking. There is no one on this planet who would take any of the top 5 over UGA’s to date.

The only logical explanation I can even come up with to justify their numbers is that they're looking at raw stats as opposed to relative stats... ie. X number of total sacks > Y% of total passing downs resulting in sack.

Similar for stops, pass break ups, etc.

Otherwise, I can't even make sense out of their math.

here someone posted the top teams for each raw stat line: LINK

Must be because USC has 3 Total Sacks and 12 Tackles for loss on the season

The AU d-line is spectacular as long as you don't mind giving the opponent's qb 8+ seconds to get rid of the ball.

I think they actually watch film and grade. I also thought quality of opponent mattered.

But from the rankings, I have a hard time believing either of those statements

Almost all of the talent that we had from the past few defensive line classes is no longer on the team.

Auburn’s line is awful.

OUs Dline has a very high havoc rating. It’s quite amazing what Riley and grinch have done on that side of the ball in 1.5 years considering how god awful OUs Dline was before that.
