What did Auburn get away with?

Then the NCAA praised Auburn for it's compliance efforts. God not be mocked.

He’s right. Law of averages and all.

But Cam Newton wasn't paid, his father was.
Thus the loophole.
Thus the loophole.

I'm sure the NCAA found proof that Cam actually received money, but yet still reinstated his eligibility. Why? Because we know how much the NCAA truly loves Auburn and will go out of their way to protect the orange and blue no matter what.
Now, hurry along, comb over your hair, brush your tooth and try not to be late for your job as burger flipping apprentice.
It was because his father was paid and it was supposed to be without Cam knowing.
I guess you think they make up new rules for no reason? If the exact same thing happened today it would be a violation. Because they closed the loophole.

Man after all these years I didn’t realize they actually had Newton’s dad being paid...
Maybe if some of these folks wish it and say it enough that is might change the past. You would figure even the ATPBer Herman Frisco would have remembered his life for the greater extent of a year :lol;

So did he ever figure it out after all these years?

Link? Cecil Newton had a conversation with MSU agents (boosters) about a pay for signature deal. Cam was not aware of the conversation. After investigating Auburn for over 1 year...the NCAA said good job staying within the rules with Cam's recruitment. The provided link is great reading for those who choose not to be ignorant. #russiannewsisfakenews

If money had been exchanged then he would have been ineligible.
Think of Rueben Foster, we were accused of getting his mom money, Trooper was dirty. So Reuben should have been ineligible at Bama for the sins at Auburn?!! Bama should be on probation even though they did nothing??? Really?

Only a GD fool doesn't believe The Newton's were paid to sign with the Barn. Cam and Cecil will tell there story down the road when and if somebody will pay them for the truth.

NCAA says Cam didn't get paid. AU says same.
Think I will go with them rather that some ignorant gump even though Bama is and always has been the gold standard for getting paid as an athlete.
At any rate, maybe Bama fans should actually learn the facts of the NCAA investigation into cam before running their cocksucker.
The NCAA letter posted states Cecil shopped Newton (to MSU). The letter states that an athlete getting paid is against the bylaws (obviously) and Cam was not paid by anyone. Two things (pay attention gumps, I know, reading is hard):
1. MSU did not get in trouble because a parent asking for money was not a violation at the time (it is now). AU did not get in trouble because Cam was not shopped to AU after MSU declined to pony up the cash to Cecil.
2. As stated in the NCAA letter, AU was not aware Cam was shopped to MSU by Cecil (even though this was not even a violation at the time, the NCAA specifically notes this in their letter).
The NCAA letter states that not only did AU not violate the current rules, AU did not even violate the future rule (though MSU did) of Cecil shopping Cam.
At any rate, kudos to Cam and the NCAA for their letter that put in writing and clear terms that AU violated no bylaws.

As previously noted, anybody that thinks the Newtons solicited money from one program but played at the other place for free is very naive.
ESPN
ESPN.com reported Thursday that a teammate of John Bond, a Mississippi State quarterback in the 1980s, contacted Bond soon after Newton's official visit to the school during the Ole Miss game in December 2009. He said he was representing Newton and soliciting a six-figure payment.
Sources told ESPN.com that Bond's former teammate is Kenny Rogers, who played at Mississippi State from 1982 to '85. Bond told ESPN.com that the former teammate told him other schools already had offered $200,000, but because Newton really liked Mississippi State and had a relationship with coach Dan Mullen from their time at Florida, Mississippi State could get him for $180,000.
"He said it would take some cash to get Cam," Bond said. "I called our athletic director, Greg Byrne, and he took it from there. That was pretty much it."

I believe the football was paid in the 2010 iron bowl not to roll out of bounds when ingram fumbled until getting to the end zone.

Well, just dealing with what is known and the findings of a 13 month extensive investigation with over 50 in person interviews, bank records, tax records, and so forth that is what happened.
Frankly though, how can any Bama fan even say anything or speculate when Bama has had clear violations that went unpunished - T-towns menswear which violated athlete marketing and promotion bylaws according to known facts AND sure as hell strongly lools like a lot of athletes got paid, and even Bama players admitting they were paid by Bama, given furniture, free rent etc (Fluker and others).
