Nice deflect to Avery. Avery Johnson is respected in and out of basketball circles. Pretty shitty to deflect on to a good man due to your own pitiful insecurities

If you think Cam Newton and his Dad solicited money from one school and not the other, you are very naive. The NCAA even adopted a new rule because of it.
NCAA adopts "Cecil Newton Rule"
The NCAA Legislative Council on Wednesday officially passed a new rule designating any parent as an agent if he or she is found to be soliciting the services of a son or daughter to an NCAA institution

To be fair, MSU approached him and he simply played along.
Pete Thamel timeline...
2007 accuses Auburn of having an Athlete friendly major saying 70% of football players use it (In breaking news LSU at the same time had a major 80% of football players used and Florida had the same major as Auburn and a higher percentage of football players using it) Why write the story about Auburn?
2010 accuses Auburn of paying Cam Newton and suggest Auburn will be on probation and be forced to give the BCS title back in 2011 (In breaking news a year long investigation revealed Auburn was clean)
2017 accuses Bruce Pearl of NCAA issues which will cost him his job (We will see!)

There was a point during the whole fiasco where Chicken and the TD/SECRant admins wouldn’t let Auburn fans post in the thread. There were a lot of us that caught the bannage for disagreeing with the tinfoil hat crew.
Sad times for the SECRant.
And then, afterwards, when the SEC sent us a letter as proof we were as clean as the driven snow, any sign of satisfaction or joy in the situation in a post by an Auburn fan got disappeared.
As you said... sad times.

You keep leaving out MSU alum Kenny Rogers, who spearheaded the solicited money. I do not think he would have done the same for other schools, or would they have trusted him. So you are either naive or stupid to think it was only an MSU issue.

Yeah. The ncaa adopted a whole new rule, precipitated by the Newton case, that parents can't act as agents for the player, simply because somebody from another school offered them money, which of course, they turned down and attended Auburn for nothing.
Right
Right

So you’re saying the NCAA covered up Newton getting paid? Auburn has magical powers.

Why can't AU have a good season w/out cheating?
Wait, It's AU
Nevermind

Yeah, it was amazing the magical powers Auburn had over Saban's NCAA President good buddy.

No, it wasn't technically against the rules because it was claimed that "Cam didn't know".
That's the reason for the rule change.
It did happen and Auburn did pay for him. You got away with it because of a loophole.

How did Auburn get off because of a loophole if they paid for him?
Posted on 2/17/18 at 10:29 am to 3down10
if Cam Newton had been shown demonstrably to have been paid, he would have been ineligible. Just FYI

The zealots just can’t get emotion out of the way so that logic can prevail.
Does anyone think it would cost Auburn $$ to convince a football player to choose them over missy state?
That is like accusing Florida of paying a basketball player to choose them over Central Florida.
It is a stupid thought.
Cam, under the wisdom of his pastor/father chose the wise path to avoid the crooks and play for a program that does things the right way. The NCAA, just to cover all bases, looked into the matter and rightfully ruled Auburn clear of any wrongdoing.
They didn’t even use a phrase like “looking down the barrel of a gun” in the press conference.

You may be one of the most god damned ignorant posters of all-time.
I'm sure the NCAA found proof that Cam actually received money, but yet still reinstated his eligibility. Why? Because we know how much the NCAA truly loves Auburn and will go out of their way to protect the orange and blue no matter what.
Now, hurry along, comb over your hair, brush your tooth and try not to be late for your job as burger flipping apprentice.

Sure, the NCAA often praises schools for their compliance when they are guilty of NCAA Violations. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
