In a discussion with Pat Mcafee he says that because the NCAA lawsuit is based on anti-trust violations, scholarship limitations will basically be gone. The NCAA can set roster caps to preserve fair play but they can’t limit the amount of scholarships a school wants to give. This wont affect football and basketball much (other than no more walk ons) but it will heavily impact baseball due to the odd scholly limits currently imposed.

The non-lottery states like Alabama may no longer be at a disadvantage if UA and AU choose to fully fund scholarships for all baseball players up to the new roster limit.

Yeah, baseball has always been screwed when it comes to scholarship money. Good for them, too long coming.

Aww, you mean Vandy isn’t gonna have the advantage anymore on scholarships? What a shame!

Soccer is right there with it. Soccer gets like 9.9 for D1 & D2.

Bout time. I played baseball many moons ago and when you got hurt the 1/2 school was gone. You had choice books or tuition not both. Only 9.5 is tough.

Most don’t even have men’s soccer because of title 9.

We may already be seeing the impact of some of vandy’s advantages going away. Pretty soon they may bring absolutely nothing to the conference in any sport. Oh well, that’s one way to quiet the whistling clown down...

Scholarship limitations have always crushed the baseball program compared to other SEC schools. We've been playing handcuffed the entire time.

Alabama baseball alumni say scholarship model has plagued sport for decades

I have found that out with my son play travel soccer and playing high school. I didn’t know teams like Kentucky and South Carolina play in the ACC in men’s soccer. Also the American kids are at a disadvantage out of high school. Soccer is the only sport to my knowledge where a kid can play pro ball, be cut and still go to college and play college soccer. The international soccer pool is recruited more than the American high school ranks.

Not nearly as much NIL going around for baseball as football and basketball

No doubt but NIL eliminates the scholarship issue if your fans are willing to fund it.

Scholarship limitations are due to a federal law, not some arbitrary NCAA bylaw. Why would anyone listen to anything Pat McAfee has to say about anything, especially his layperson legal opinion of a lawsuit

That article thinks they keep Holman and Shelton despite coach getting fired

Remember when bear gave football players swimming and all the minor sports schollies to football players
