I'd really like the LSU/Texas rivalry to develop but hard with this many teams and this schedule.
Plus, understand LSU's history with the rest of the Southern teams.

I guess follow up question for LSU fans - would you rather play Texas or Texas A&M every year?

Maybe I just want LSU to be Texas' rival because it's one of those teams that everyone wants to play for some of the same reasons everybody likes New Orleans.

If it’s 3 permanent and 6 rotating, the teams would play every other year. Plenty enough to plant the seeds of a rivalry

too many problems. not terrible, but.... lsu doesn't want to play aggie. you're really piling on auburn. too many schools with easy permanents. i know there is some balance with the rest of the schedule, but to me there are too many holes and issues.

From the guidance the SEC was discussing in 2023 Auburn and Texas A&M could not have all 3 of those teams as permanents. I think some of the discussion was an upper 8 group team could only be 2 of the teams and that where possible after the bigger rival games they would try to keep the lower 8 group teams to 1 upper group team to make it easier to qualify for bowl games.
