From the transcript of Saban's Media Day presentation.

"It's going to be a challenge for our team to re-establish the identity that we would like to play with. We want to be more physical, tougher on the line of scrimmage, be relentless in the way that we compete so that we're never affected by what happens in a game, that we can keep playing at a high level on a consistent basis, and that we take care of the ball and do the kind of things to execute with consistency that's going to give our team the best chance to have success. These are things that we need to improve on. We did not finish the season the way we wanted to last year in terms of the way we played"

Sounds like Saban would like his team to be Uncommon.

"if we're going to be a no huddle team like we were last year, I think we have to manage the season better with our team, because I think at the end of the season last year, we ran out of gas a little bit. We played more plays, I think by 170 on defense, which is like a couple, three more games. And our players showed it."

So more plays mean more risk of injuries and can be dangerous for players.

Seems like I remember a lot of static over coaches stating the obvious facts on this issue a little while back.

I've told countless people how impressive it is Big Bert has created Les' wet dream of an offense in only 2 seasons. I don't think LSU fans would even mind that kind of offense if we could be as effective. Maybe it's possible with Grimes already doing a better job than Strudawa

Nope. Not interested in doing backflips over 7-6 seasons.

I feel like Saban is somewhat grabbing at straws and doesn't really know his team's identity.

Perhaps forever being in the record books as the first SEC team Ohio State beat in a bowl game will carry on your interest in Alabama.

Our current identity is defending SEC Champs.

Bama needs to get back to the ground and pound style offense they were running and have recruited for. They could out Arkansas , Arkansas with no problem . It makes the matchup more favorable for them because they would basically be the same team with a lot more talent.

No, but there is an Arkansas City, Arkansas. Outside of McGehee. On the river.

Used to play a gig in McGehee (golf tournament) several summers in a row. Fun party. Worked some with a guitar player that was from Arkansas City.
