Penn St won the Big 10. Are they not the best team in the conference?

If not, why are conference championships even awarded?

It makes zero sense to have a conference championship game going forward.

Overall no they are not. They did the best with the conference schedule that they were given. But if you include out of conference games, they did not have the best season of the teams in their conference. Not sure why this is so hard to comprehend for some people.

Was LSU in 2011? We all knew they weren't.

And lost by 39 to Michigan and lost to Pitt. Penn State had a nice season but they still lost 2 games. OU was undefeated in the Big 12. If we're ignoring non-conference games, then they should be in.

Pitt beat PSU and Clemson.

The blowout by Michigan is what killed PSU's chances for the CFP.

I would say the loss to Pitt was a pretty big factor as well

Non conference is a good comparison when there isn't a H2H available. In this case, there was. Penn State got fricked.

CFB as we know it is dead.

Congrats NCAA, you finally killed it. And all the talk from the committee about what was valuable....they lied.

We are now in the NFL-lite era. Take down your banners, remove your rings. Burn your tshirts.

It's only two things: Strength of Record and making it into the playoff.

The ironic angle is, imagine that PSU would have lost to Michigan State on the same day as tOSU beat Michigan.
Then, tOSU would have gone to the B1G championship game.
In this condition, it would have only hurt tOSU by playing in it, should they have lost to Wisconsin.

Penn state lost 2 games
Ohio state lost one

If u go by your beliefs, ok, a 7-4 team wins a shitty division, upsets number one in the championship game should go in over teams with fewer losses that didn't win a conference? Now THAT is the shite that will kill college football.

If we go conference championship means the most then u can forget teams scheduling good ooc games. U will get your conference games and then Chattanooga,Sam Houston, coastal and Texas state.

Or imagine if Michigan hadn't shite the bed against Iowa. Then Ohio State would own the tie breaker over both Ped State and Michigan and gone to the GCC.
