I'm getting real tired of the NFL hogging the calendar

The National Championship should not be played on a weekday. The Lone Star Showdown should be played on Thanksgiving. If not for the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961, those greedy fricks would've taken over Saturdays as well...

Dodged a bullet
re: What do we think of CBS vs ESPN halfway through the season?

Absolutely. More money, more games available for free on broadcast TV, better production... I do miss the old theme music though.
OU should've stayed in the Big 12

where they dominated their rivals on and off the field (recruiting, revenue, exposure, etc.) and enjoyed an easy path to the playoffs every year. That's all gone now and their move to the SEC has not worked to their advantage. And they're having a down year at a time when Texas and A&M are gaining all the momentum. If they don't turn things around soon, they could very well end up going the way of Nebraska.

You guys are much better than your record shows (got robbed by the refs vs LSU and should've beaten Bama). This could be a trap game for us.

He's a snake who courted our in-state rivals behind our back.

I, for one, welcome our new nerdy overlords.

I mean, they got some really good calls go their way last night
And they still lost. There are too many good teams in the SEC and bribery can only go so far.

from the fact that Vanderbilt has a winning record against Texas (8-3-1). If the Horns thought they could just ref their way to a title like the old times, they've got another thing coming.
re: Of the 4 SEC additions this century A&M is really the only good one

Thanks for the memories, Coach Saban.

2010 National Championship and 2012 Heisman Trophy will always stay with us.
Why I'd love to have FSU and Clemson in the SEC

Because frick the gentlemen's agreement, that's why.
But all jokes aside, if we don't invite them, the B1G will.

We have ESPN to thank for this fiasco

It was never about who deserves to get in and all about attracting the eyeballs. FSU was not gonna be competitive without its starting QB and ESPN didn't want another lopsided semifinal, which would've hurt their TV ratings, so they lobbied the committee to leave the Seminoles out.
There is no playoff in college football. It's a crooked system that's masquerading as playoff.

Nick Saban lobbying for an 8-game conference schedule

Nick Saban Not Happy With SEC's Proposed Alabama Schedule
Nick Saban speaks to his support of future SEC scheduling model
Little Nicky is scared of playing LSU & Tennessee every year.:casty:

SEC officials are currently looking to decide whether to move to a nine-game conference football schedule or stay at eight games once Texas and Oklahoma join the league, and in theory Nick Saban is in favor of making it nine.
That new schedule would be different from the divisional slate, where teams play six or seven set teams each season. Instead, each school would be assigned three permanent annual rivals.
But the Alabama head football coach isn't happy with the three teams he's hearing he'll have to play every year: all rumors indicate those rivals will be Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU.

Saban added that the new scheduling format is another positive now that Oklahoma and Texas are involved.
“The way we’re going to do our 7-team rotation, 1-team fixed. You’re going to play everybody every 4 years,” Saban said. “So almost every guy at your school is going to get to play every team in the conference, which I think is great as well.”

Never would've thought we'd be in this position after the Miami debacle.
