Lubbock is heaven compared to places like Plainview, Hereford or Childress.

Well my Dad was born and raised in the Panhandle
and played ball at Tech for 2 years in the early 80's
Tech was the only school who recruited him and most of the players in the Panhandle.
For this I always have respect for Tech who gave a kid who started at White Deer HS and ended up at Pam...

The grass is symbolic of the control over the students that the university holds
It is about molding the student into a group
The group is at discretion of the university
Conformity is a bad thing when you are trying to teach higher thought
This is why A&M is more akin to a cult

I just do not see a reason to parade my degrees for
anyone
If you come into my office you can see the 3 degrees I am proud of having 2 of these degrees are from the University of Texas the third is from UC Berkeley...

A&M is not an academic university in the sense that it doesn't stimulate higher thought
A&M is closer to a cult who brainwashes their students to play follow the leader
