Looks like Skenes reportedly signed with the Pirates for $9.2 million, and the slot value was $9.721 million.

Enough to buy his Air Force contract and pay for the wasted education/slot he occupied? Not enough to buy his honor back.

So did he sign the largest contract or not?

Congrats to the guy either way, that’s a dang good deal.

You sound butt hurt like hell. Skenes wore the number of a former teammate that got killed in the military. And stated if he is young enough after his playing days are over, he intends to re enlist. Plus he donated money for every strike out to folds of honor.

We shite talk a lot to each other but trying to degrade a kid like this is bullshite.

He created a fund to cover scholarships for families of American servicemen who died in the course of duty. At last count it was over $28,000. He has said, repeatedly, that when he finishes his pro career he will complete his service in some form of another. He has several family members in the military. As noted, he wore the number of an Air Force teammate who was killed while in service. What exactly have you done at all / for your country?
