When did either win a conference championship? Go look at the bowls.. I was shocked MSU never made the sugar bowl. It’s really a list of who gives a shite bowls, I even attended the Liberty bowl with Anthony Dixon. I love State.. got my Masters from there. Even live here now.. we just haven’t been very successful in football. I’m just hoping for a championship in any sport. I think womens basketball will be the best bet. It’s pretty sad neither school has won a notational championship in any sport. I would like to see State donit first

I'm not one to white knight for Alabama of all schools... but they've won 10 national titles outside of football. That's nothing to sneer at.

The Sugar Bowl for years was a popularity contest and nobody disputes that we've historically sucked in football. Today's Sugar Bowl doesn't mean near as much, so it sounds kinda arbitrary as a measure to me. State has been to three Orange Bowls, so I'm not seeing the point there.
AS far as not winning championships making you irrelevant, if that were the measuring stick, 80% of the country would be irrelevant. Fans who draw their self-worth from the success of their favorite college football team like to sit behind their computer screens and spout ludicrous stuff like that, but I can assure you, Nick Saban doesn't think either of us are irrelevant. LSU's football program doesn't think we're irrelevant. State has the full respect of every program in the conference because we have had a full decade of sustained success. That may not mean much to the retards on tRant, or to blowholes like Pat Forde, but none of them matter anyway. And we aren't going anywhere, either.

When people think of Mississippi State, they think Mississippi State of old. How many teams just in our conference has been to 9 straight bowl games? State has won 9 games 3 out of the last 4 years. If they win their bowl game this year, 4 out of 5. How many teams have done that in our conference? It's similar to the Jordan and LeBron agruement? No matter what LeBron does, he will never be as good as Jordan.
