Josh these show a pattern of nice consistency. However people tend to not notice the gator bowl (I'm not knocking) as much as NY6 or playoff. All the other bowls get lost in the shuffle now. 9 wins in a season 3 out of 4 years is really good, but will get overlooked due to Bama dominating the west and the SEC. Hell Auburn won the west last year and no one really cared because Bama won the natty.

Point I'm making is that no one outside of the SEC cares much about the rest of the west anymore because Bama has been dominate for a while.

Since the CFP, those 3 bowls are only ones that matter. The NY6 bowls are nice consolation bowl. I'm not talking about the the name of the bowl just the consistency of the program in the past decade. As matter of fact, I'm tired of the Gator Bowl.

I agree but the old traditional bowls will still garner some attention even if they aren't included in playoff that year.

For example the Rose Bowl always holds weight due to nostalgia

Both of Mississippi schools are both at a disadvantage at recruiting.
1) It's a fairly small state with population of only 2+ mil.
2) Ole Miss and State are fighting for D-1 athletes.
3) Alabama is right down the road.

LSU and Arkansas should never recruit at a low level since they are only P5 school in their state.

Those traditional bowls also rotate in the CFP? Correct?

Yep, I agree.

Who would've thought it would take Pat Forde to bring our fan bases to agree on something

It's why only Alabama and Kentucky are relevant as far as sec schools.

What's your point?

My view is that the traditional 6 always garner attention no matter if they are, or aren't, in the rotation that year.

Pat Forde has been one of the best CFP writers for quite a while, I wouldn't call him an idiot. Frankly, for 90% plus of college football fans, Ole Miss and Miss State have been irrelevant for about 50 years. The couple exceptions being the Eli years and a year or two of Dak at State.

frick Forde! It matters to the right people. The emotions in the Egg Bowl have very little to do with what Joe Fan in the Stands thinks. The players don’t take the rivalry nearly as far as the fans do. So for a fight to break out their had to be a very high level of anamosity between the players of both teams. That anamosity was whipped into them from somewhere. Whether perceived or real. There was real hate on the field that night. OM says Abrams started it by slapping Vajayjay’s helmet. State fans say it started when Abrams and Vajayjay were wrestling for possession of the ball and Corral, who appeared to be on meth and was in some kind of lathered-up state, runs up and horse collars Abrams and slings him backwards. One thing is for sure. Corral and Brown should not have seen another snap on the field. But they took our two defensive leaders from us. Didn’t matter though because they still couldn’t score on us afterwards.

They don't fight because they win less. They're both symptoms of poor coaching and shallower talent pool. Iron Bowl is obviously insanely heated but fistfights on the field are rare
