Says neither school wins much so they have to fight to be relevant. So most schools are shite because they don't win championships. Forde is a dick

Was a dick thing to say.. but he is right. It’s not just winning championships.. it’s the fact neither really are that good. State had its best team ever this year and might make the outbackbowl.. ole miss cheated and couldn’t win the conference. Both teams kinda do suck.. but I’m pulling for you in women’s basketball

Or maybe they fight because there is a genuine dislike between the fans and the players. Rivalries like the Egg Bowl and the Palmetto Bowl is that they still matter to people of that state even when the teams stink. That's what makes these rivalries great.

I agree but you are leaving yourself out there. We won’t be relevant until we beat Bama and LSU up in the same year. This is a fact.

You know State dominates Alabama in baseball, basketball, and women's basketball. Yea y'all kick arse in the most lucrative sport which is also the sport in which historical success makes one iota of difference in the on the field success. So yea, outside of one Saturday in November each year, Bama is state's bitch

Ok...yeah as irrelevant as about 8 other programs in the SEC. I'll be the first to admit that the fighting is ghey but to single MSU and OM out here is cherry picking on Mississippi again. Why didn't he say this about NC St and UNC?? Talk about irrelevant.

I don't know why people keep pushing this. State fans may have pushed this narrative pre-season but their 2014 team was night and day better than this team. That team was #1 in the country in mid-November until they lost a close game to Alabama and then played in the Orange Bowl

There are some. But we aren't talking about basketball. The comment was about football. After the 1940's, MSU quit caring about football and suffered greatly because of it for nearly a 50 year period. Luckily someone woke up and hired JWS, or who knows..

But for trolling, Forde is irrelevant. This is a pay it no mind moment. Ain’t worth your energy and he would think your talking about it means he matters as a sportswriter. He most definitely does not.
