I honestly believe had we not contacted Nutt, y'all have him for the 2008 season.

The only reason he "resigned" IMO is because he knew he had a better offer for more years and more money than Arky offered him (one year extension i believe).

We by no means stole him from y'all but had he not had another offer on his plate I think he would have taken the one year extension y'all offered him. That's just me though.

He was informed he would not be back before the Tennessee game that year.

For whatever reason John White refused to allow coaches to "be fired" in public view, the extension was just words to justify the resignation to give a "mutual" aspect to the departure. Nutt also had his annuity at stake which was really his money so no problem with him getting it, had it been his decision to leave he would not have gotten that.

Not saying its an issue (race) but I am pretty sure with a good amount of fans that abandoned both programs and hated both coaches from the start. It was about racism

There is some truth to this, it isn't wide scale, but it can be true.

For example a small faction of Arkansas fans believe Sutton is a more accomplished HC than Richardson, and as a result a better, smarter, superior HC to Richardson. Race has to be a motivational factor for them as there is no data to back their claims.

The SEC IS racist. There are not enough or high enough percentage of white starting RBs in the SEC.

Huh? answer me that

African Americans comprise roughly 13.1% of the U.S. population, while roughly 18% of Div. 1 baskebtall coaches are African American. I'd say the numbers are quite alright.

Enough with this racial BS. Forde and his ilk are a cancer.

Good thing he didn't talk about football. He would have buried Vandy for how we railroaded James Franklin to a team performing worse than us in a worse conference.

Dang it. You had to go and ruin it and bring good argumentative facts to the conversation. How are the NAACP suppose to make money with facts like these?

Besides Hispanics are 2nd to whites in US population now....where is their representation as HCs?

Blacks don't want to bring them up, because it will lower their percentage to population avg....

The difference is Penn St. is seen as a better job than Vandy, While Cal and Tulsa are arguably worst jobs than Tennessee and Mizzou.

So when a Forde article comes out bashing UT, he's totally right, but when he calls out the whole SEC, he's wrong?

Exactly, but we both know that's how things work around here.

Ah. Well that makes more sense then. Wasn't aware of all that. Either way, frick Houston Nutt.

Its part of being politically correct now days, because apparently you can't flat out fire some one for under performing anymore.

Another example is Grobe at Wake Forrest who "retired", a week later the Army job comes open and Grobe is throwing his hat into their ring.

It seems unless the HC just totally sucked his entire time at the school, "resignations" are the preferred method of separation.

I didn't see the article on UT from him (I try to avoid clicking his links). But I can promise you, and I'm pretty sure I can speak for UK fans that have dealt with him since he was writing for the Louisville Courier-Journal, that we'd still say he needs to go frick himself.

I guess I didn't sarcasm hard enough. Sorry.

It also circumvents buy-outs by making it mutual. The coach and team both get out of a bad relationship at no cost.

Welcome to the party. I was wondering if you were ever going to show up. The keg is in the back yard. Hookers and blow are in the front yard. There is some really weird shite going on on the side of the house. I would stay away from there.

He had such a hard on for Petrino while he was here.

I guess they are cool now he's back to where he's "suppose to be".

Maybe black coaches should just get better???

Schools care more about money than anything. If a black coach brought in more money, he would be hired.

Racism/NAACP is stupid. Its like Unions....it had a time and a place...

We have one. Brodus is his name. And when he kicked in a game it made national news.
