By this logic don't you think LSU fans would know who actually has "inside information" at this point based on past experience?

Which LSU fans?

No, they are hungry for information and believe too many dumb lies because they want them to be true.

So you're saying people like Lunatik and I are "too hungry for information and will believe lies" from sources that have been 100% spot on in the past and clearly have sources within the LSU athletic department while an Aggie baseball writer from Texas is the only one who actually knows what's truly happening?

Wow.

Then how are they consistently right about basically everything that they say regarding inside info?

Name the sources so we can compare them to Kendall

So who are they? What have they gotten right? Who do they say will be the next coach?

Jordy Culotta and OTOP have broken all kinds of info that ended up being correct regarding LSU athletics over an extended period of time. There is really zero reason to not trust them.

They clearly just started making up lies for this particular coaching search.

Opt outs, transfers, Kim Mulkey, Mainieri retirement, Efton Reid, etc.

It isn't known yet because too many candidates are still coaching. O'Sullivan was the guy then he wasn't then it was back on the table (that's been verified by basically every BR media member) then it was rejected for whatever reason.

I did a quick skim to follow what OTOP thinks of the search.

I basically went from Godwin & Schloss to Sully to locked in on Sully to board ruined Sully. Casey to Casey is a smokescreen even though he's here. Bianco... maybe but we're looking around to see who's available after the season and McDonnell is a back up.

Maybe some of that info is fine. Maybe its all good. But he's all over the place and he hasn't exactly settled on a name since Sully a few weeks ago. Has the search been that chaotic?

I do somewhat align with Rogers. He said Sully was the top choice. The difference semantics about who said no to who. Both said its not longer Sully. Then Casey came up. Rogers said it was more serious than OTOP. Both agreed to the 1.8 M #.

Big swing and a miss here. A&M never offered Tony.

This may help you understand what's happening...

What would you say if I told you that you were wrong and that this guy knows more about what's happening at A&M than the guys you've been following there?

I saw that. It's included in my snip.

You can say that. You'd be wrong. Local and national people invalidated it. And logically it doesn't make sense knowing now A&M hired Schloss.

Whereas at LSU he would just be another great coach in the long line of great coaches you have had.

Point taken, but I wouldn't necessarily call it a long line. It's a line of Skip Bertman and anyone who follows him never living up to him. Him still being alive and always around probably doesn't help with that pressure. That's really the only big hurdle LSU has, the expectations can be insane on some levels. Being under that level of scrutiny, every single day, in a regional sport like college baseball, where that isn't the case very many places, isn't for everyone.

Now flip that around. That's how ridiculous it sounds for you to say that the local guys here that follow LSU sports for a living are wrong.

I don't know of any local guy (A&M or elsewhere) coming to say the Lsu guys are wrong. I see the top national insiders doing that.

And like I said they differ on items that don't matter. Sully was a candidate. Now he isn't. Does it matter if Lsu or Sully said no because in the end, he's not there? He's still leading a top Florida team.

What is sounds like is there are too many chefs in the kitchen. If they believe in Woody they need to get out of his way, let him make the hire, and support it. He clearly knows what he's doing. If they end up compromising and making everyone a little bit happy it won't be the best candidate. Compromises almost never are.

I am not. But I am suggesting that Marinara may be going without a replacement. Look what happens to UT football when they tossed Phil out and all of sudden it set us back 20 years and counting. LSH is a rich baseball school and will find a coach no doubt. But simply just saying your history will land a top notch one is also not totally correct. Tennessee football on the 90’s and early 2000’s was elite and they got ride of a hall of fame coach and figured they wouldn’t have any issues finding a coach and now look 20 years later.
