Good news for Tennessee is that LSU would have to miss on their top guys to even resort to calling him. I would think tcu is a bigger threat unless they just go with sarloos

UT provides Tony the opportunity to take a mediocre baseball program with a huge fanbase starving for success to an elite level. At UT he basically gets a blank check to design a program from scratch as he sees fit. LSU can offer plenty without a doubt, but as a well-established program, they cannot offer that opportunity.

What do you mean by "design a program?"

Its no secret we don't have a ton of great baseball history outside of Todd Helton. Our stadium and facilities are lacking, and we don't have a tradition of success.

However, the administration has recently come out and said that they are all-in on investing in baseball and willing to do whatever it takes to take the steps to becoming an elite program. So TV would essentially have the opportunity to have a hand in every aspect of this build, from stadium/facility improvements, traditions, to daily operations of the program and whatever else he wants really. He can essentially become UT's version of Gary Gilmore and take our program from an afterthought to a contender.

LSU, on the other hand, is one of the best CBB programs of all time with incredible facilities and resources. The challenge there is not building a program from the bottom up, its sustaining elite success. So, IMO, its just a different type of challenge. Its totally dependent on what type of challenge TV wants to tackle.

I guess so.

The thing is that TV has already outlined what he wants from a program which Tennessee can promise to do however the difference is that LSU already has everything he needs and wants

Tennessee is years away if they even follow through on their promises.

Remind me how everyone is lined up beating down LSU doors down trying to coach there. Every candidate that has been listed has all not panned out so far. UTK is in the process of building a brand new stadium down town and upgrading and adding to Lindsey Nelson.

I agree LSU is there now, but that's part of the draw that separates the two programs. He's in year 4 at UT and he's matched the highest level of success our team has ever reached. Imagine giving him a few years with unlimited resources, allowing his input on the stadium and facility upgrades, and he could really be the catalyst to create something special here and develop a legacy. Whereas at LSU he would just be another great coach in the long line of great coaches you have had.

I'd bet proven LSU sources know more about what's going in than an Aggie in Texas.

Are you suggesting LSU isn't a premier baseball job?

There is the rub. Your bias toward Aggies just won't let you accept the guy knows what he's talking about.

Aggies are always wrong, look at 95% of your takes here, for example.

The opposite could be said just as easily. Your bias won't let you accept that he may not not have better sources than guys that live in BR and cover the athletic department daily.

LSU “insiders” are 1) save face first and foremost 2) report the facts

How it’s always been in redstick

You’ve been around long enough to know that people who tweet everything given to them (Kendall) won’t be given information behind closed doors.

There’s a reason certain college coaches won’t share information with him.

Nah. Every town has their inside guys. Every town has more pretenders that think they know what's going on. Too many pretenders are coming out of the woodwork acting like this is some elaborate scheme about smokescreens and fake candidates.

Pretty much, I'm a big fan of KR and he obviously is connected to a large degree but lately some aggie posters think his remarks can't be challenged or questioned one bit when considering other sources.

By this logic don't you think LSU fans would know who actually has "inside information" at this point based on past experience?
