They took the interim tag off Golding.

Then they'll hire another non-P4 coach, rinse and repeat

Pretty sure Golesh is legit. Turns out he was probably more responsible for our '22 than Heup.

Has Silverfield ever played the game beyond HS?
Posted on 12/1/25 at 11:21 am to finchmeister08
Auburn's history says Golesh has 3 years to win

Using this list (and not including whomever Kentucky hires):
1. Jon Sumrall - The fans hate the hire, so if he struggles, he won't survive beyond the next AD being hired (or 2-4 seasons). If anything, he'll be the first one to hit the ejection seat for greener pastures
2. Lane Kiffin - Has the best circumstances but the shortest leash. It's win or get tarmacked
3. Ryan Silverfield - General apathy from the Arkansas faithful
4. Alex Golesh - Due to the current perception surrounding our program, Auburn can't afford to re-enter the coaching carousel again for some time. However, out of the five hires, I think this one is the best one out of the bunch (excluding Kiffin). The worst case for Golesh is that he'll end up in Arkansas in a few years (like Sumrall will for Kentucky)
5. Pete Golding - Due to the circumstances surrounding his hiring, he'll have a long leash to make improvements

Based entirely on trends at their school?
Golesh or Kiffin
Based on expectations?
Kiffin
Based on what I *THINK* will happen?
Sumrall, only because the fanbase will already be pissed they didn't get Kiffin, so he'll get fewer free passes.
I think Golding, coming into the shitstorm, and Silverfield, coming into the mess that Arkansas is, are the safest from kneejerk reactions.

Pete for now, but let’s see who Kentucky hires

He may not get fired, but Lame will be gone first.

One of those is not like the rest.
Lane is and was already an SEC HC... the others, not so much.

Definitely Golding.
Definitely will have the shortest leash, since he was basically a desperation hire.

Arky truly fricked up. Should have hired Petrino and stole a couple of high powered recruiters from your conference mates.

Most likely Golden, but UF is giving Sumrall the Harsin treatment so who knows.
That's mainly online.
Many UF fans will be at the airport today with open arms for Sumrall.
Watch it.

Not many people want to work with Petrino and SEC officials hate him, we were getting arse raped by officiating when he was the interim.
Aubie coaches have a 2-3 year shelf life since Gus.

Golding easily . He is just there till they find their actual head coach. Ole Miss also doesn’t have to worry about paying 2 coaches not working for the program if they fired him early .

What’s his contract like, that’s what really matters.

Tell me you don’t follow Auburn without saying so. Our roster is there. We need to fill a few pieces but this is not a rebuild at all

What’s the shelf life on Aubie coaches that tried? The two since Gus didn’t even try, no wonder they were chased.
