re: Out of the 2 loss sec teams, which is the best and worst?

LSU is the best and A&M is the worst.
The only reason A&m is even in the discussion is because Bama was playing them 7 days from their only tough scheduled game. Had it been a healthy Bama team, they win that game by 2 tds.
UGA and SCar's defense would have shut down JF.
1. LSU
2. SCar
3. UGA
4. A&M

I'm sorry you think the game was close. It was a 12 point game and you scored a TD with 1 minute left to make it a 5 point game.
Also the A&M lite comment is bullshite. We played you at the end of oct.not in sept. we shut your qb the frick down and that's why you think you weren't playing well. Our defense does that to heisman hopefuls.

Well I'll just say I'm damn happy A&M progressed after the LSU game to the degree necessary to:
1) Beat Bama (which LSU couldn't do)
2) Receive effusive and unwavering praise from Sam Montgomery (who plays for LSU)
3) Win a Heisman (which LSU ... Lol)
4) Get selected for the Cotton Bowl (over LSU).

Circular reasoning all over this thread.

Hey UGA, you only played the "extra game" because the Bama grad in the SEC office moved the Bama/UGA game off of the 2012 and 2013 schedule. Florida played a far superior schedule to you. If you had to play LSU, Bama, or A&M in the regular season you would have not made it to Atlanta. Everyone knew before the season that you weren't better than South Carolina, but we all knew that the SEC gave USC and UF real SEC West opponents while you got to play the bottom feeders from the West.
UGA, 2012 SEC schedule champs!

A&M is the best in the SEC period. If it wasn't for shitty bama scheduling, A&M would be in Miami.

UGA had nothing to do with the UF turnovers. Is that what you're saying?
Nope, but I am saying your win over UF was unimpressive.

LSU is good -- probably the third best team we played this year. And you won. No one is saying otherwise. We're just saying you got A&M lite, whereas everyone in November got A&M.
What a bunch of BS. You only played one decent team in November, first of all. Secondly, A&M's yard per play average was the lowest against LSU all year.

A&M yards per game in October = 560.
A&M yards per game in November = 571.25.
Doesn't seem very different, especially when you consider that A&M's last two games of the year were against SHSU and Missouri.
Also consider the fact that LSU beat A&M AT HOME. Finally, consider the fact that the game before LSU, A&M put up 678 yards, and the game after they put up 671. Seems like A&M's offense was humming on all cylinders, and yet, LSU held A&M to only 410 yards.
So your little theory is a bunch of BS. A&M was not playing better in November. They were basically the same, and they had their worst game of the month against the only good team they played in November.

Wait, wait, wait ... wait.
Why are you citing YPG? After the game, when LSU fans insisted they completely dominated the Ags, A&M fans asked "Well we actually amassed more yards than any other team LSU has faced, doesn't that count for something?" to which LSU fans responded, "No, yards mean nothing."
That was the general message.
So please don't cite YPG. It doesn't really mean anything.
When we say A&M improved following the LSU game, we mean that literally all but one of the games we played was put away before halftime.

That stat is critical for your argument, dumbass, which I have dispelled.

I would have responded that we held you to your second lowest total all year (only UF held you to fewer yards).
We also shut your Heisman winning QB down after the first quarter. JFF got downright confused by our zone and our 3 man line. He threw more picks against LSU than in any other game all year.
That is because LSU's defense is particularly well suited to stop A&M's offense. We match up very well and we would have beat you again.
Remember (this is worth repeating), we beat you AT HOME.

They act like we played in sept and they are this world beating team now. Like we didn't play them at the end of oct. and they didn't score a garbage TD to make it 5 point loss rather than a 12 point loss.

No, friend. Yards aren't critical to my argument. A&M sat its starters early* in several games following LSU -- this because, again, all but one of those games were put away at halftime.
You dispelled an argument that A&M averaged 11 yards more per game in November than they did earlier in the season. The problem is I never posed such an argument.
* Starters played one possession in the 2nd half against AU and SHSU. They didn't play but one possession in the 4th against MSU. First team OL played 2 and a half quarters against Mizzou.

I also understand that nuance is a difficult concept for LSU fans to grasp. And I admit its much easier to simply point to a number before painting with a broad brush.
But with regard to Johnny's interceptions against LSU, it is a fact that 2 of those were not his fault. That's not something I discerned from rewatching the game, it's something Sumlin stated more than once.
It's also a fact that Johnny threw two INTs following the LSU game. That's because ... yes ... he got better and so did his receivers.

Keep believing that LSU loss was a fluke. A&M played 3 of the top 5 and lost to 2 of them.
Posted on 12/25/12 at 6:16 pm to Rickdaddy4188
Never said it was a fluke.

I do agree that it was JM worse game and not all that has to do with LSU. He made some uncharacteristic mistakes
