Wasn't meant as an excuse. I was saying bama isn't that good this year. Great teams play great at least most of the time on both sides of the ball. That just isn't bama this year.
LSU seems like a great team so far. Defense could use some improvement, but I think the D is solid enough (unlike Alabama) to complement the offense enough to get the job done against anybody.
It was meant to contrast not only how the teams played Saturday, but how they've played over the course of the year.

For the moment they don't have ESPN driving the bandwagon. That could change.

All trolling aside this Alabama team looks to be at worse an 11-2 Final AP Top 5 team.
It's pretty ridiculous and a testament to what Saban has done there that a season like that could be considered a down year.
