Even if that happens bama would have to improve dramatically to have a decent chance to win it all. The thing about mulligans is, if you waste one, you're a lot less likely to get the next one.

Why are you making excuses for not winning by more? You won. Enough said.

First, I'll say kudos to admitting that Bama lost fair and square.

I do think though to LSU fans, the "Bama played like crap" narrative paints the picture that Bama was terrible and LSU played a perfect game, which is not the case.

- Terrible punt return coverage on Waddle's PR
- Stingley gave up 2 terrible long TDs (maybe not all his fault, as one was a terrible defensive call by Aranda when we should have been in prevent to finish the game and the other one Coach O admitted that coaches told the defense when Tua clapped that he was changing the play, and instead Bama snapped the ball while LSU was changing defenses)
-Horrible delay of game penalty on LSU 4th and 1 (Burrow hit Chase on a slant for the 1st down, just too late) which would have extended that drive, and if we score made it 23-7. Instead, we had to punt and Bama scored on that drive.

I just don't want it to be spun that LSU was flawless and Bama was pathetic, which is not the case. If Bama could have played better, then certainly LSU with the mistakes I just pointed out could have been better as well.

This is not likely to happen. Only scenario is if both Auburn and Texas A&M finish 9-3, solid Top 15 teams, and Bama beats AU by a lot, and they already crushed A&M. That would give Bama a case. Otherwise 1 L P5 teams would pass them, and maybe even a 1 L Big 10 runner up.

Those 10erC players was right.

Bama not a championship team this year.

It's pretty ridiculous and a testament to what Saban has done there that a season like that could be considered a down year.

Agreed.

It has been an amazing run and I seriously doubt it's over. Probably got at least 5 more years in the tank.

I'd guess Pruitt told them that -- and I trust Pruitt to be able to identify championship level play, even if he hasn't quite coached to that level so far.

That said, my last hope is that this loss and performance is the catalyst for great improvement, transforming 2019 bama into a championship team.

Nobody uses a loss quite like Saban.

The players will get back to The Process and tune out the rat poison.

But this ain't your year, aight?

Body language is far from a perfect predictor but Saban sure looked tired Sat.

Alabama is too young in the front 7. Clemson, Ohio State and probably OU also would ring them up pretty good. Even if they get in it will be a tough task.

For LSU the best case scenario (if they make it) is have Clemson and tOSU play in a semi and get paired with someone else. Only deal with one of those, beating both in back to back games looks very tough.

Yeah, lots of games left to be played. Plenty of potential chaos.

By the postseason, every starter will have had a full year or more to learn and improve. That excuse can fly early in the season, and maybe even a little bit still at game 9 given that we hadn't played anybody remotely challenging through game 8, but by game 13, get that shite out of here. If they aren't significantly better by then, we need new defensive coaches.

Calling that loss to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl already?

Good man.

I think most reasonable fans are able to give a tip of the cap to each other after a solid win. Most of the back and forth is when the losing team makes excuses or tries to somehow downgrade the win. LSU fans are just as guilty and it's understandable that we might want to do a victory lap after 8 years of crap results.

No doubt Bama is a top team and dependent on how the rest of the season unfolds we may meet again.

You missed the “Bama played like shite”??
This is a ninja we are dealing with. Not LSU played great and deserved the win.
It’s “Bama played like shite.” Very subtle and well played ninja
