I'm old enough to remember when Mizzou held the win loss record over Bama.

Guess that makes the state of Alabama our Dixieland Delight, oh, so right.

Ah yes, the vaunted Missouri Tigers. Oklahoma State Northeast, who we have a 68–25–5 record with. You must be so proud.

OU all time win % vs, SEC (using 0,5 win/tie) = 174.5/301 = 0.580 winning%

Not to compare with OU, Texas winning % vs. SEC all time = 274/430 = 0.637 %. Texas was higher win % thanks to aggy and Arkansas.

SEC brought in two more dominate teams with Texas and Oklahoma. Most here are to young to remember when SEC wasn't the dominant conference they are now. Other than Bama SEC was middle'in before 2005 or so. After 2005 the SEC took off. Other conferences were strong, especially PAC 8/10 and Big 10.

FYI for comparison, Texas record to the right.
Alabama - 5-2-1.....8-2-1
Arkansas - 10-4-1.....58-23-0
Auburn - 4-0.....5-3-0
Georgia - 0-1.....4-4-0
Florida - 1-1.....3-1-1
Kentucky - 2-1.....3-0-0
LSU - 1-3.....9-8-1
Mississippi State - 0-0-0.....4-2-0
Missouri - 68-25-5.....18-6-0
Ole Miss - 0-3.....6-2-0
South Carolina - 1-1.....0-1-0
Tennessee - 4-2.....2-1-0
Texas aTm - 19-12.....77-37-5
Texas - 51-65-5.....65-51-5
Vanderbilt - 2-0-1.....5-8-1

List to National Championships by year from NCAA records. You can see how Saban and SEC took off after 2005, prior to 2005, not so much.
https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/college-football-national-championship-history

Starting from SEC entry,
OU = 7-8, first year was a rough start
TX = 12-4, frick Georgia! 12-1 without those Bastids.

I have to say that the one time we played was probably the best cfb game I've ever saw. That game had a little bit of everything in it.

OU actually left for the Missouri Valley... from which the Big Six ended up emerging.

One interesting thing about OU in the SWC... they never played A&M during that stretch. (1915-1919).

OU played A&M four times between 1903 and 1913...

They didn't play them again until 1944. They played every year from 1944 through 1951... then not again until a home and home in 1993-1994... then annually from 1996 through 2011... and then in the Cotton Bowl in 2012 season after A&M joined the SEC.

Kind of an unusual series for teams from neighboring states.

It is really weird how OU really didn't play SWC teams more often while members of the Big 6/7/8.... considering the proximity to those schools.

For like a year or 2.

OU is a Big8/Big12 team historically

One of the best Georgia wins in history, and one of the best games I've ever seen. The blocked FG and Sony's last run give me goosebumps.
