In an effort to get an SEC roster, do you think OU is throwing around as much cash as 5-7 tu is?

That commit they got from that highly rated OLmen who has never even stepped foot in Austin cracked me up.

I'm not sure what OU's situation is in terms of NIL. Not sure what the make up is of their boosters, but would think they would have some with some pretty decent oil money though that could throw some cash around..

Texas has a lot of Boosters in Oil and big real estate type investors...Im not sure how oil companies can even get involved with NIL, it's not like they need advertising? I don't think anyway, but I guess they can find a way...I grew up in the oilfield in Texas and don't remember oil companies ever doing much advertising..Maybe well servicing or drilling companies need advertising..

Meanwhile 10 teams have a higher per player average than OU. No way will OU finish in the top 5.

OUs highest rated recruits they are in on are still uncommitted. OU has a realistic chance of 6-8 more top 100 players, and is likely to get 6 for sure. At bare minimum this class finishes around 285 points if you just go off crystal balls right now, which is always good for a top 5 class.

and you think the 10 teams ahead of OU aren't going to sign more players? Hell, Alabama has signed only 14 and will nearly certainly finish ahead of OU, yet again.

That aside, the coach that has gotten you to the playoffs left for the coast, and the replacement is a career assistant.

It's laughable that morons think this is any sort of weakness.

Bob Stoops demoted Venables from the DC position at Oklahoma back in 2012. Bad sign boys. Very bad sign. And just in time for a move from a weak Big12 to a stronger SEC.

What part of class ending with 285 points and that being a top 5 class every cycle don’t you understand? Bama will likely finish with the top class. But OU and Texas most likely make the top 5. Also an assistant just whooped Sabans arse a few months ago.

Most SEC schools don't understand anything about oil money. Of course Texas doesn't even need new oil money since they already have so much more than everyone else. With NIL things will start changing very quickly

Both are ranked above all SEC teams but UGA currently, and both will finish top 5. Things are about to get crazy competitive in the SEC.

News flash... you're not in the SEC.

You may become a member 2025ish, but until then, why are you here?

I personally quite enjoyed it. Some very fat former coaches thought the last time we played them was borderline erotic too.

I would concentrate on beating Kansas, UCF and the Mormons....Texas got their shite pushed in twice the last times they played.

Run along now.

OU fans want to act like the SEC should respect them when they are a middle tier SEC type program. Why do you high school heroes want our validation so badly? I don’t get it.

Recruiting talent has never been a problem for either team. Going back to the Mack Brown days Texas always had highly rated recruiting classes, same with Oklahoma, they have always had highly rated classes.

Yeah, I don't think people realize what's coming. I can guarantee Texas would have never joined the SEC without NIL passing, possibly not OU either. I mean who wants to get into back alley, bag man bidding wars with Alabama, Georgia, LSU, etc over recruits and risk NCAA sanctions when someone turns you in? Texas has already been through that in the old Southwest conference...But now with NIL, it is legal to pay recruits. Now it's not as much about BAMA's umpteen titles as it is about whose boosters can pay the most and not have to worry about the NCAA hammer. With the SEC patch on their Jerseys, Texas will become a monster, possibly OU too. I'm pretty sure both will have enough Booster backing to stay very competitive...
