So the entire conference could take a 3-4 mil per school per year reduction

You don't think much do you?

And you still have a racist username

Good article by Clay Travis today on conference expansion and the SEC conference network issue.
LINK

I wouldn't mind adding OU, myself. Good football and basketball teams. The main issue there is the relative lack of SEC network subscribers in that state to justify the move.

The big targets that could result in a revenue increase for each existing school are:
1. North Carolina or N.C. State
2. Virginia Tech or Virginia

This SEC Network is a money making machine. And these schools now are all about the money.

Lulz. UVa has a much greater presence in Virginia than Va Tech. Football, of course, Va Tech has the edge for now, but otherwise not close. Like i said, maybe in Blacksburg County (whatever the county's name is) and perhaps other metropolis` in SW Virginia, like Wise and Pulaski, Va Tech may reign supreme, but in the big cities in Richmond, Norfolk, and the DC area its not close.

The people saying they want OU and lil bro OSU in the SEC have never been to an away game at those two shiteholes.

The entire state of Oklahoma is a pimple on the SEC's arse. Why would we take in two more mouth's to feed and get practically nothing back?

They are not terrible, just little brothers when big brother is still around

NC State was Tobacco Road before UNC and Duke
Virginia Tech has not shown it can survive post Beamer Ball

If we learned anything from Slive, getting academic upgrades lifts the rest of the conference and getting #1 in a state is better then #2. In this sense you take UNC and UVA over NC State and Virginia Tech every time. With UNC and UVA the AAU count goes +2 while NC State and Virginia Tech is +0

The more interesting addition would be leaving the ACC alone altogether to keep the B1G from raiding it while adding Oklahoma and Kansas in the west. While the Sooners are not AAU they are possibly the next in line in the B12. Kansas is AAU and adds a much needed basketball program to the SEC. Oklahoma has an obvious football program but looking at them they fit the SEC all around sports very well.

SEC east
Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt

SEC west
Arkansas, Kansas, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, and Texas A&M

The SEC East looks pretty tough in that setup.

Do not want Oklahoma, and especially do not want OSU.

Please no more expansion. As many people have said, if we had to expand the only targets I would want are in NC and Virginia. UNC and UVA would be ideal but I don't think that would ever happen. NC State and Va Tech would be decent. Pretty much anyone else would suck.

You wouldn't have divisions with 16 teams. Pods are more likely.

As for the OP, we've heard Boren running off at the mouth before.

In my lifetime there are 2 schools I can never see in the SEC

Notre Dame
Texas

Maybe after I am dead an buried, who knows, but if old guys are still running the shop in Birmingham just can not see either of these.

Nice revisionist history. You clowns would never dare question Texas wile still in the B12.

Luck for you chumps Mike Slive was an awful commissioner and lock the SEC into a terrible deal with ESPN. Slive sucked

this makes more sense than uv and unc, who will never, ever join the sec ... not in a million years, though unc's academic stance is now 100 % laughable ...

frick it! Let's just invite every FBS school to the SEC. We'll have a 34 team playoff.

OU and Okie State to the SEC.

Makes literally 0 sense monetarily. If the SEC expands, it will take a Virgina and a North Carolina school. Oklahoma has a small pop and small TV audience, why would we bring in two schools from the same small state?

You could trade Kansas and Missouri to the B1G

SEC gets first pick from ACC and adds UNC and UVA

Move Alabama and Auburn to the west

ACC adds Notre Dame full time and gives Wake to the AAC for Huskies and Bearcats

B1G has 16
SEC has 16
ACC has 16

PAC takes Texas, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Iowa State

Rest of the B12 go to the WAC or the AAC

Not like any of this happens, but most realignment discussion is fantasy anyway.

Wouldn't we just move to a pod system if we have 16 teams?
