Are they going to stock that pond? That would be cool for the kids.

The entertainment district concept for new on campus arenas seems like one of the few corporatization of college sports initiatives that helps instead of fricks over the fans. Baton Rouge/LSU is going the same route.

I don't think the city would have voted for something like this if we were still in the BIG12. This entertainment district will serve a lot of fans that travel in not just for basketball but for football too.

Too early to tell its all renderings but not an official build plan. It was a lot of work to get this passed. And it could still end up going to a people vote, with some maneuvering.
Our Womens BB coach giving a speech to soccer team. Jennie will love to get an arena and she’s gonna be a force to contend with in BB.

Women’s basketball isn’t what’s going to get the money to build that arena
Looks sharp though

With tonight’s approval of the Rock Creek Entertainment District, we are one step closer to providing Sooner Nation and our programs with championship opportunities.
We are thankful to Mayor Heikkila and the Norman City Council for their support!

Off campus just north a bit. Private/college deal. City will help pay most of it.

I think it would be cool for tailgating experiences for kids to, and everyone for that matter to fish while waiting for the game. Nothing wrong with that.

Congrats, looks nice. I read that OU threatens to move sports out of Norman if they didn’t approve it back around April. Glad it worked out.

OU basketball kept getting 5 million dollar renovations every two years and finally they can have an arena that can compete with most schools . It only took 40-50 years to get a new basketball arena . Gymnastics will continue to be a force !
