This time last week any mention of Kelly, would have been met with LSU fans berating you, Riley’s in the bag, and frick Brian Kelly we’re LSU…we can do better.
Today they’d blow him on the 50 yard line in that dump of a stadium like an Aggy. Don’t let them fool you, they’re underwhelmed as is the rest of the SEC. Nobody, I mean nobody was “goin after” Brian Kelly.

Kirby Smart
He's the only one that should worry, honestly...

0-2 vs Ed O

This. Why is Smart even in this conversation.

If Kirby is no good because Ed Orgeron is 2-0 against him....and Kirby is 2-0 against Brian Kelly....what does that make Brian Kelly?

I posed this same question earlier this morning in this same thread and apparently it fricks with the way their logic is programmed and they short circuit.

It's not enough for them thay they're "happy" with the hire, they want all of us to Marvel in the move, too, and if we don't, they flip the frick out.

I've noticed this, too.

The mind of an LSU fan never ceases to amuse me.

Hes 100 times better than the coach we had before we had the shrimp boat captain and that coach also won a title.

this cannot be over stated!

Saban doesn't worry with anyone including bama fans, so yeah.

Actually from the horse’s mouth, Saban worries about everyone he plays and that’s one of the many reasons why he’s a great coach.

That makes Kelly a coach playing with less talent at ND, and that’s just plain fact.

You really needed someone to point that out to you?

and frankly, LSU is more concerned with a national championship than academic reputation.

As is every SEC school with the lone exception being Vanderbilt.

Kirby lost twice to coach O. shouldn't you be asking yourself that question!

No, it isn't. You better look at what Brian Kelly has accomplished. Crap, you guys have gone off your rockers.

Your team just literally went .500 two straight years after winning a title. Maybe you should look in the mirror.

LSU hired a coach who’s 0-2 against Saban with a margin of defeat of 73-28; 0-2 against Smart; 1-3 against Clemson’s Dabo Swinney; 0-1 in home games against Cincinnati’s Luke Fickell; 3-5 against Michigan; and 0-5 in New Year’s Six-level bowl games, plus a BCS national championship.

LSU fans probably remember Kelly from Notre Dame’s 21-17 triumph over the Tigers in the Citrus Bowl to cap the 2017 season.

That ranks as the most impressive bowl victory of Kelly’s career.

Here’s how Kelly fared while at Cincinnati and Notre Dame in his biggest postseason games:

Orange Bowl (2008 season): Virginia Tech 20, Cincinnati 7

BCS National Championship Game (2012 season): Alabama 42, Notre Dame 14

Fiesta Bowl (2015 season): Ohio State 44, Notre Dame 28

Cotton Bowl (2018 season): Clemson 30, Notre Dame 3

Rose Bowl (2020 season): Alabama 31, Notre Dame 14

LSU landed a big-name coach, but not a big-game coach.

Wow.

Yet Kelly is 0-2 in H2H competition with Smart. I'd wager that's a much more important metric.

So by that metric, you'd agree that Ed Orgeron is a better coach than Kirby Smart?

Forget the numbers then. What's a coach that lost to Cincinnati at home worth? Legit question.

Ummm....as much as Saban, the coach who lost to Louisiana-Munroe while at Bama.

And don't jump out there too much, UGA has looked for and away the best of any team this season. However, let's not act as if Kirby has already won a Natty. I like Kirby and think he's a great coach but truth be told, Orgeron won a natty in emphatic fashion in less time than Kirby.....despite Kirby routinely pulling in highly ranked recruiting classes.

yeah he should have done better with football players with 3.4 gps and 28 act scores. Try building a team out of that. Hint: No almost no bama Clemson Georgia or LSU players qualify to be on this team
