In FBS. Hasn't won squat in FCS.

Smart - 82% winning percentage
Kelly - 73%

Yet Kelly is 0-2 in H2H competition with Smart. I'd wager that's a much more important metric.

I'm not saying the guy won't be successful. I don't mind admitting that I like LSU. When it comes to how the West goes, I wish him all the luck in the world.

For better or worse, he's the Tigers' guy. All we can do now is see how he recruits between now and the 2022 season kicking off.

This shatters your world view, but not everything is about Bama.

Or at least it won't be when Saban either quits or kicks the bucket because he's sick of dealing with their ungrateful fans.

It's not.

We just fired a guy who was 2-0 against Kirby. No one is making hires based on "Who can beat Kirby Smart?" Unless you're Florida

Considering LSU has won 4 of their last 5 vs UGA with barely functional man-childs at the helm, I’d have to think a coach that is a clear upgrade to both won’t have any issues with everyone not named Saban.

UGA, A&M, OM, and all the others crowing about this hire are simply trying to convince themselves that somehow Kelly is a downgrade from Miles and O, who both won titles.

I imagine Saban didn't even know they had hired Kelly until some reporter asked him about it.

That's how worried Saban is about LSU.

On the contrary, I think he's a decent coach. As a non-LSU fan, however, I don't see the hype. He's your guy, so it's a moot point to debate the pros and cons at this point if you're a Tiger. At least you're not melting like Tennessee was over Schiano.

I can tell you that it's a thing of beauty to see the Florida hire totally overshadowed, and amusing to see Woodward suck all the air out of the room in the wake of the Riley move to USC.

Kirby went to OT in the national title game while Kelly has been boatraced in every CFP appearence.

Saban is on the downside of his career & Kirby doesn't belong in this sentence.

A reductive way of comparing the coaches, but sure.

Sorry, but UGA fans don't need to act like Kirby is king dingaling. They want to compare the two coaches and their success..... fine, neither one has won a National Championship and that's the big prize.

Saban lost to a dog shite aggy team and was a play away from losing to lsu at the 5 yard line.

If Brian Kelly had even one national championship on a D1 level then yes. He may be a great coach we don’t know yet but LSUbis massively overpaying him as of now. The coaching salaries are out of control. The problem is if Kirby wins a national title this year he will then be the highest paid coach in CFB and it’s being driven by a coach that has yet to win a national title. If Saban wins another one next year his contract will do the same.

I'm not a Georgia fan. Just an honest assessment of both coaches.
