I'd love to hear any kind of supporting info for this

yes, our P4 in state rival. A team that's been better than lsu of late

umm..ok? Neither did a lot of people?

Kirby shouldn’t be complaining.

UGA has had the best OOC in the SEC since the NCAA went from 11 to 12 regular season games.
It's not even that UGA's schedule is not weak. It's literally the BEST in the conference on average since college football went to 12 games.
It was crappy after the SEC expanded while we still had just 11 games though. That's ancient history these days.

While true, even without that incentive UGA will be playing a stout OOC slate.
Here are the number of P4 OOC games UGA has scheduled each year for the near future:
2026 - 1/3
2027 - 2/3
2028 - 2/3
2029 - 2/3
2030 - 3/3 (though I imagine one will get dropped)
2031 - 2/3
2032 - 2/3
2033 - 2/3
With a 9 game conference schedule, that's 11 out of 12 games each year against major conference opposition. THere's no incentive to do so, but UGA will still have the toughest OOC of any team in the SEC (and probably in the nation).

The real problem here is that the CFP committee will now have even fewer data points to compare the SEC to B1G, BigXII, EZZ etc...

Georgia plays Georgia Tech every year and Tech isn't a glorified rent a win anymore.
More big conference games means fewer big OOC games. People will scream and shout about "iron sharpens iron" but you need some cupcakes in the schedule. If, for nothing else, just to give you time to heal up.

You mean the 12 game season or conference games?
If the overall schedule, that would take a miracle to get EVERY school to agree.
If conf. games, people already gripe about the time between rematches (or some even occurring for the 1st time).

Which is their own damn fault. The ONLY reason they didnt exclude Bama for ND was because the SEC would have went scorched earth in the subsequent contract renewals

Georgia scheduled opening games against Clemson and Oregon prior to scheduling Oklahoma, which was cancelled because of the conference realignment.
Then came the drop of the division schedules.
Additionally, Kirby has always believed in sharing revenue with smaller schools that depend on that money to fund their other sports programs.
Kirby's warning about the nine game schedule should be taken seriously by the middle tier of the SEC.
All of these six new coaches will absolutely struggle to get to a two loss season. Two loss records seems to be the new criteria for even being considered for an at-large playoff slot.

Nope
Did you hear Kirby during the post game panel interview.
He stated that other SEC coaches that he has talked to are not happy about it either.

I'm not sure this is correct.
The reasoning behind going to 9 games was not only strength of schedule, but a minimum of 4 SEC teams automatically qualifying for the playoff.
Also, ESPN finally gave in and upped the payout for extra games.

You should and when you lose to bama and have one more slip up you can be just as dumb as Texas for keeping that unnecessary game on the schedule
